Dr. Dre puts his Malibu beach house on the market for $20 MILLION

Dr. Dre is moving on from his Malibu vacation house after owning it for more than 20 years.

The iconic producer and rapper, 57, has put his beach home — which is right next to the Pacific Coast Highway — on the market for a whopping $20 million, according to Dirt.

Dre's decision to part ways with his longtime vacation home comes after he didn't have access to it for an extended time, as his wife Nicole Young stayed in the house throughout their contentious divorce, which was settled in December 2021.

Dre (real name: Andre Young) has listed the home with Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency.

Despite being a vacation home, the beach house sports an impressive 9,000 square feet of space, spread out over six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Dre is poised to make a significant profit on the beach house, as he purchased it back in 2000 for only $4.8 million.

Although any beach house in Malibu would likely be pricey, the rapper's property has the distinction of being located on Carbon Beach, which has become one of the coastal city's most in-demand areas in recent years.

The listing describes the home, which was built in the 1990s, as a 'contemporary beach estate,' and notes that it 'exudes total luxury and sophistication.'

Privacy was apparently important for Dre, and the house is only accessible from the road by passing through a gate. The house also includes a top-notch security system.

The hitmaker is moving on from the home after two decades after he succeeded in keeping all of his real estate holdings after his divorce from Nicole Young. 

He was required to pay his ex a massive $100 million dollars, which was far less than he feared he might be forced to pay, and only a fraction of his $820 million fortune. 

Young had initially been seeking half of his worth, though a prenuptial agreement prevented her from being awarded that much. 

Dre was awarded control of the seven properties the couple had shared, including the beach house he is now selling, as well as ownership of all his lucrative master recordings, all of his preexisting commercial partnerships and he stock he acquired after selling his Beats by Dre empire to Apple.
