Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar tweeted and deleted a disparaging comment about his Republican rival Cassy Garcia after winning his reelection race Tuesday by 13 points.
'Looks like you'll have plenty of free time to audition for Narcos in the near future,' Cuellar tweeted late Tuesday night.
The jab was inspired by the Republican playing up reports that the Democrat had accepted a $1,000 donation from a source linked to the cartels, according to San Antonio Express-News.

Garcia had dubbed him 'Cartel Cuellar.'
'Nice try Cassy!' Cuellar continued. 'It may require you learning Spanish. Rosetta Stone is on standby!'
The Washington Examiner's Anna Giaritelli discovered that Cuellar's mean tweet was deleted by mid-day Wednesday.
In its place, Cuellar had tweeted out a statement thanking his supporters, his political allies and his family.
'Finally I would like to congratulate Cassy Garcia on a hard-fought race,' Cuellar said. 'Cassy won a strong campaign and I wish her the best,' he said.
National Republicans viewed Cuellar's Texas-28th Congressional District as one they could potentially flip.
They've made inroads with Latino voters - and after a bruising primary Cuellar looked potentially weak, especially because he doesn't support abortion rights like the rest of his party.
Cuellar held off Democratic progressive challenger Jessica Cisneros twice before the general election, earning more votes than her in the March primary, but not enough to avoid a run-off.
Cuellar later defeated Cisneros in that May run-off race.
