A man who crashed a Tesla while driving at more than 100 mph on New York City's streets was indicted Wednesday for the crash death of his 18-year-old passenger.
A video shows the exact moment the luxury electric vehicle crashed into the wall of an assisted-living center in Brooklyn last year on June, 10 2021.
Mikhaylov, the driver, allegedly failed to properly negotiate a ninety-degree turn while driving at more than 100 mph and lost control of the vehicle.
The car then barreled through a metal fence and struck two dumpsters before going airborne for nearly 40 feet and rotating in the air and eventually hitting the wall of the facility.
The charges were announced Jonathan Mikhaylov, 23, by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez who said the defendant's 'alleged reckless driving caused the death of a young man whose entire life was ahead of him, and left others injured.'
'My Office will continue to fully investigate cases of vehicular violence and prosecute drivers who break the law on our roadways and endanger our communities,' he added.
