Lima placed the body in his vehicle and drove off Sunday at 4.40am, eventually abandoning Ferreira's body at a stream in Parque do Cormo.
He returned to the apartment about four hours later with his son.
The police found the body wrapped in plastic on Tuesday.

Lima tried to cover up the murder by reporting his wife missing Friday evening, Brazilian news outlet G1 reported.
He told the police that he had not heard from Ferreira after she left their home to visit family in Campinas, a city in the northwestern part of the state.
'She left for Campinas, sent the last message at 7:51 pm saying they had only 5 percent battery. At 10:39 pm I sent a message again and it was not seen and calls forwarded directly to voicemail,' Lima said in the report. 'In contact with my sister-in-law and the mother of the disappeared reported that she did not arrive at their homes in Campinas.'
Lima also told police that he had searched bus stations, hospitals, and police precincts in hopes of locating his wife, who he was married to for a year.
Authorities believe that Lima may have murdered Ferreira out of jealousy.
