At least 213 murders were reported in Acapulco during the first quarter of the year, government data shows. By comparison, 442 people were murdered in all of 2021.
Mexico registered 23,351 homicides through the first nine months of 2022 after 33,308 people were killed in 2021. By comparison, 34,554 killings were reported in 2020 following 34,690 murders in 2019.
