Ex-MSNBC host Tiffany Cross was allegedly under scrutiny for racking up as much as $100,000 in expenses before she was fired for spewing anti-conservative rhetoric.

Cross, 43, the former host of Cross Connection, was accused of booking trips to Los Angeles as business expenses, accumulating thousands of dollars in costs for the network during her two-year tenure, sources familiar to the matter told the New York Post

'She's staying at a hotel NBC's execs don't stay at,' one source told the outlet about Cross' alleged stay at the ritzy Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons hotel during the Oscars, which charges more than $1,000 a night for its suites.

Social media posts from that week show Cross boasting about her time in LA prior to Oscar night, with a photo posted two days later of her waking up and standing outside a hotel balcony overlooking the city skyline.

The balcony and view matches the one at the Beverly Wilshire five-star hotel.

The sources also claim that Cross had gotten wind that she was going to be axed from the network, allegedly saying: 'I'm going out in a blaze and I'm taking down the network and going after Rashida,' referencing MSNBC President Rashida Jones.

The network officially cut ties with Cross on November 4, following a spate of controversial anti-conservative comments, such as declaring the nation was in a 'civil war.'

Neither Cross nor MSNBC immediately responded to DailyMail.com's request for comment.

Sources told the Post that Cross had made it a habit to stay at swanky five-star hotels, positioning them as business trips.

They said some of those visits to LA included seeing the 2022 Super Bowl and a trip to the Oscars, where she allegedly booked the 'extended stay' at the Beverly Wilshire.

On her Instagram account, Cross boasts about getting her hair and makeup ready in Los Angeles on March 25, two days before the Academy Awards.

By March 31, Cross appears to be back in New York as she posted a picture of her with comedian Roy Wood Jr.

Cross was also said to have tried to build up support against the network a week prior to her ouster.

In an Instagram post following her firing, Cross claimed to be MSNBC's highest rated weekend show that garnered more than 4.6 million monthly viewers.

According to Nielsen, Cross Connection only managed to draw about 2.8 to 1.8 million viewers a month since June.

In her final week, she had only 605,000 viewers, trailing behind CNN and Fox's competitor segments.

Ratings also indicated that Alex Witt was the MSNBC host with the highest rated weekend show.

One source said Cross' overestimated her worth, which is why she allegedly booked the five-star hotel trips.

'She mistook working in television news for being a celebrity,' the source added. 'She was making north of $200,000 and she acted like she made $5 million.'

Cross was just one of the big-name firings at the network reported this month, as LGBTQ anchor Shepard Smith also saw his show The News with Shepard Smith canceled

Prior to getting the axe, Cross called Florida 'the d**k of the country' in an interview with Charlamagne tha God.

While Smith's departure reflects efforts by CNBC to increase business-related news on the network, Cross' termination comes after she was repeatedly told to tone down her rhetoric.

Cross once blasted Meghan McCain over her remarks on identity politics and said The View host should be fired because her only talent is 'benefiting from nepotism and black hairstylists'.

Last year she revealed that her brother is a truck driver, and whenever he hits the roads, she worries for his safety because it 'feels like a dangerous industry.'

'This is an industry populated by a lot of white men over the age of 55,' Cross said. 'This group of people overwhelmingly voted for Trump.'

Cross previously made the comments declaring 'civil war' as she filled in for MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid Reid on The Reidout.
