Newly-released video shows five white jail guards checking their own injuries after they brutally pummeled a half-naked black inmate in his cell.
Security footage from the Camden County Detention Center on September 3 documents the moments before and after Georgia sheriff's deputies repeatedly punched 41-year-old Jarrett Hobbs, who was sitting alone in his cell.
The sheriff's deputies could be seen in the new footage walking away from his cell in the aftermath, as one deputy has the others check his eye for any injuries.
It is the third video released by Hobbs' civil rights attorneys as they demand the deputies be fired, and is the first that provides audio of the incident.
Authorities have claimed Hobbs was banging on his cell and would not stop, despite several demands before they intervened. His attorneys, though, say he was undergoing a mental health crisis and are demanding the deputies be criminally charged.
The incident is now under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, at the behest of the local District Attorney.
In the meantime, News 4 Jax reports, the five deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave.
They are still being paid, a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office said, but are available to answer investigators' questions.

New security camera footage shows they slammed the 41-year-old inmate onto a bench in the hallway as they demanded he release something from his hands, which Hobbs insisted was just a piece of paper

Hobbs was arrested that day for drug possession and traffic violations
The video released by Hobbs' attorneys on Wednesday provides a clearer picture of what had happened in the moments before and after Hobbs was beaten.
Banging could be heard early on in the video from the hallway at the jail before a deputy walks over to Hobbs cell.
Soon, a scream could be heard coming from the cell, and four other deputies head to the cell just seconds later as stunned inmates peek their heads out of their cells.
Moments later, the deputies could be seen dragging Hobbs out of his cell, forcing him onto a nearby bench and asking him to drop something in his hand, which Hobbs said is 'a piece of paper, bro.'
When he refuses, one of the deputies could be heard threatening the inmate, saying: 'I'll break your f****** thumb if you don't let go.'
He then repeats: 'Open your god d***** hand.'
The deputies then lead him back into the cell, as screams continue. They walk away a few moments later, with some of the deputies examining the eye of another.
Previous footage showed the first sheriff's deputy coming into Hobbs' cell. Records indicate that Hobbs had been banging against his cell door and would not stop despite being ordered to do so
After other deputies came into the room, they held him down as one of the deputies started pummeling Hobbs
Other footage showed the deputies pulling Hobbs out of his cell and forcing him against a wall in the hallway when his pants fell
Previous footage showed Hobbs standing alone in his cell by the door before turning to pick up two objects — which his attorneys say were just a piece of paper and a sandwich.
At that point, the first guard can be seen rushing in and grabbing Hobbs by the neck, attempting to shove him into a corner when the other guards enter.
They tried to hold Hobbs by his wrists, as one of them could be seen punching the detainee in the back of his head and on his neck.
Other guards soon join in on the beating.
And another video showed the jailers dragging the criminal through the cell door and throwing him against a wall in the hallway, where his pants fall off. The struggle lasts for about one minute in total.
Hobbs is now charged with aggravated battery, simple assault and obstruction of law enforcement officers following the altercation
Hobbs had just been booked for drug possession and traffic violations that day before he was brutally beaten.
He was on probation in North Carolina for a 2014 criminal conviction at the time after pleading guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud.
Hobbs is now also charged with aggravated battery, simple assault and obstruction of law enforcement officers following the altercation.
The inmate's probation officer said the incident occurred after he started banging on the cell and refused to stop.
He said Hobbs did not put his hands behind his back when asked, resisted jailers and punched one deputy in the face while simultaneously punching another deputy in the side of the head.
His attorney, Harry Daniels, said his client was undergoing a mental health crisis at the time
Attorney Bakari Sellers accused the Sheriff's Office of covering up the beating in a news conference on Wednesday
But Harry Daniels, a civil rights attorney for Hobbs, said his client was undergoing a mental health crisis at the time, and suffered from serious injuries in the aftermath.
'Mr. Hobbs had swelling, a chipped tooth, maybe had internal bleeding,' Daniels said at a news conference on Wednesday, adding 'one of his dreads was ripped out of his head.
Daniels noted, though, that they will never know the full extent of the damage Hobbs faced because he was not brought into treatment in the aftermath.
He and fellow attorney Bakari Sellers are now accusing the Sheriff's Office of covering up the beating, saying Hobbs' complaint was ignored.
They noted that they were only able to get the new video after Hobbs' probation officer in North Carolina and federal attorneys requested it.
Sellers says he now wants the US Department of Justice to investigate the incident as well.
'What we have here today is a department that is rogue, a department that is out of control, a department that is absent leadership,' he claimed.
