Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have been married for 22 years, but it appears the Hollywood actress didn’t expect to be wed to the Fatal Attraction star for that long.
The 53-year-old, who has most recently appeared as Morticia Addams in the gothic Netflix series Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega, appeared on Wednesday's episode of Good Morning America and was asked by host Robin Roberts who the better gift giver was her or 78-year-old Douglas.
In a response that sent Roberts and her fellow GMA hosts, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos, into hysterics, Zeta-Jones admitted it was Douglas, joking she had a peaked pretty early.
‘I think it has to be Michael. I peaked... around year eight,’ she quipped.
Catherine Zeta-Jones jokingly admitted she didn't think her marriage to Michael Douglas would last 22 years or she would have 'held back' on gift giving

‘I did, if I had know I’d be married so long I would have held back on it. I wasn’t envisioning a 22-yearer. This is Hollywood, man.’
Zeta-Jones, who was there to promote her new Disney+ show – National Treasure: Edge of History, went on to reveal the gift she had peaked at.
‘I bought him a hot-rod… a 1930s coupe, Michael I’m going to get it wrong I’m sorry, it looks like a Bugsy Malone car, it’s really great and then I peaked. It’s been socks ever since,’ she said.
The Welsh actress added Douglas was good at giving jewelry, which was ‘something that I did really love and treasure and its sentimental value obviously’.

In a recent interview with the UK’s The Telegraph, Zeta-Jones, who briefly separated from Douglas in 2013 before reconciling, said it was ‘impossible for there not to be ups and downs if you live with the same person and wake up with them every day’.
‘I’ve been waking up to Mike for nearly 25 years. I love being married but it’s a crazy thing when you really think about it,’ she said.
Earlier this week Zeta-Jones gushed that her family life with Douglas and their two children keeps on getting 'better and better' every year.

She told People at the National Treasure: Edge of History premiere in Hollywood on Monday night it was 'just the best' being able to spend time with her family.
Accompanied by her son, Dylan, Zeta-Jones said: 'I enjoy every minute with this guy. Well, he's a good son. It's just the best.
'I mean, each year gets better and better and with such good friends, I think, in our family, which is great.'
Douglas shared a photo of their first meeting in 1998 in this sweet birthday message on Instagram

She also told People her family would be spending the holidays together.
'To have our little nucleus back together is always the best,' the 53-year-old said.
The couple, who shared the same birthday but 25 years apart, became engaged in 1999 when he proposed during a New Year’s Eve trip in Aspen and welcomed their first child, Dylan, together the next year before marrying three months later.
In 2003, they welcomed a baby girl, Carys.
But it’s not always been smooth sailing for the Hollywood power couple with Douglas being diagnosed with cancer and the brief separation.
The couple briefly separated in 2013, but reconciled a short time later
After their reconciliation, Douglas said the pair (pictured right in 2000) were stronger than ever. On the right Zeta-Jones is pictured with her son last month at the Wednesday premiere
Speaking about the couple's 2013 separation, Douglas told The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2015: ‘It can't be a one-way street.
‘But I'm crazy about her. And yeah, I think every couple has their difficult times. The only problem is, as you well know, we're all in the public eye, and it tends to get a little more exposed than most.
‘But we’re back stronger than ever.’
Douglas also has another son, Cameron, from a previous marriage.
