A man was kicked off an Allegiant Airlines plane in Michigan for saying the word 'penis' - as crew members revealed he became 'verbally abusive.'

Jayson Bauer and his father-in-law were waiting to take off at the Flint Bishop International Airport when they were thrown off their flight to Florida along with another rowdy group.

The two, who were going to help family members move, were ejected without an explanation, claims Bauer.

'Finally, the Flint police and the airport authority came over and said we were removed because I said the word "penis" on board an airplane,' he told Fox 2.

'I meant it in no derogatory [way]. I mean, it's part of the male anatomy and we were literally kicked off an airplane in Flint and we had to drive.'

Crew members tossed two other people off the same flight - one intoxicated individual, and another passenger who threw up.

Allegiant Airlines said they warned Bauer of his behavior and only kicked him off when he refused to stop.

'When crew members instructed them to cease their unruly behavior, the passengers failed to comply,' the airline told Fox News.

'As a result, both were deplaned and reaccommodated to other flights. This decision was made with the utmost safety of our customers and crew members in mind. Unruly behavior from a passenger presents a safety risk.'

Bauer and his father-in-law were offered the alternative of flying out of a nearby airport under Allegiant Airlines, but he told the news outlet they wouldn't make it.

The Michigan flight chaos isn't the first time controversy has occurred before or after take off.

Last month, a woman on a United Airlines flight got into a physical altercation with attendants after complaining her toddler needed to throw up.

The woman was flying from San Francisco to Chicago when she stood up as the plane was about to land.

She was told to sit down by flight attendants, but left her seat and pushed one of them. The flight attendant was taken to hospital along with another woman and her three-year-old.

The offending passenger was removed from the plane by Chicago police once it landed at O'Hare airport.
