Another term in the White House for Donald Trump could mean an overhaul of free speech standards, including banning the federal government using terms like 'misinformation' and 'disinformation' when referencing domestic speech.

The former president's pledge was made as part of a nearly seven-minute-long video posted to Truth Social on Thursday.

Trump, 76, also vowed to impose a seven-year ban on former FBI and CIA workers from handling any private-sector consumer records in the U.S.

This comes after the bombshell 'Twitter Files' revealed former FBI General Counsel, who was recently fired as Deputy General Counsel for Twitter, was able to review the records that were released to reporters containing internal communications at the social media company.

Jim Baker was tasked with looking over the documents released to Twitter Files authors that revealed the process that led to suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story, as well as the removal of Trump from Twitter.

Trump said in his video Thursday that the Twitter Files releases this month have 'confirmed that a sinister group of Deep State bureaucrats, Silicon Valley tyrants, left-wing activists, and depraved corporate news media have been conspiring to manipulate and silence the American People.'

Republicans claim that Democrats will not take action to remedy social media's censorship and apparent violations of the First Amendment because it disproportionately affects conservative voices.

'The censorship cartel must be dismantled and destroyed — and it must happen immediately,' Trump said in the video.

He vowed to sign an executive order 'within hours of my inauguration… banning any federal department or agency from colluding with any organization, business, or person, to censor, limit, categorize, or impede the lawful speech of American citizens.'

Trump claims the federal government should not have any ability to police domestic speech.

This is a stark break from President Joe Biden, who earlier this year tried to form a Disinformation Board within the Department of Homeland Security – before public outcry and pressure from Congress immediately led to the board's disbandment.

'I will then ban federal money from being used to label domestic speech as 'mis-' or 'dis-information',' Trump said in his video.

'And I will begin the process of identifying and firing every federal bureaucrat who has engaged in domestic censorship — directly or indirectly — whether they are the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Health and Human Services, the FBI, the DOJ, no matter who they are.'

The former president, who is running for president for the third time to get a second term in office, is expected to release a series of proposed policy announcements as part of his platform for the 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump announced his third consecutive presidential candidacy on November 15, but has since kept a lower-than-usual profile. He has not held any rallies since the announcement or deployed his pundits to dominate television coverage of his campaign.

Many Republicans are considering a bid against Trump in 2024 – most notably is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has risen to the national spotlight and gained GOP notoriety for his handling of COVID-19 in the Sunshine State.
