Bono kept it casual as he was spotted filming for a new Disney+ special in Dublin on Friday night.

The U2 star, 62, cut a laidback figure in black trousers and a T-shirt, which he wore underneath a smart jacket as he walked into McDaid's pub.

He was joined by David Letterman and his U2 co-star The Edge as they are reportedly filming for a TV special, which will be released on St Patrick's Day next year.

Bono sported his signature round orange shades and swept his brown locks in a slicked-back style as he arrived at the pub.

He was seen flashing a peace sign as he was filmed by a camera crew during the busy evening.

Little is known about the TV project, but the special is reportedly set to air on Disney+ on St Patrick's Day next year.

It comes after U2 were among the artists awarded the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors for their lifetime of contributions to American culture.

U2's influence began with its amazing catalogue of music dating back to its first release in 1980, while they have also made a major impact as activists for non-profits.

Like he has on stage and in the recording studio, Bono led the band as he accepted the honour with his devoted wife of 40 years, Ali Hewson, by his side in a striking red gown.

The event included a White House reception for band members, Bono (vocals), The Edge (guitar, vocals), Adam Clayton (bass) and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums), as well as fellow honorees actor-director George Clooney, composer Tania León, singer Gladys Knight and singer Amy Grant.

Recalling his love of Irish poets, President Joe Biden called U2 'four sons of Ireland, poets in their own right', all while declaring that their music 'has changed the world.

'We would do well to remember today at a moment when there's too much hate, too much anger, too much division here in America, and quite frankly, around the world,' he added.
