A key prosecution witness - understood to be Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard - was still missing Monday in the trial of rapper Tory Lanez, who is accused of shooting Megan, 27, in the foot.
Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta didn’t mention the name of the absent witness when she told Judge David Herriford Monday that preceptors were still unable to locate him.
Nor would her her colleague, Deputy District Attorney Alex Bott, name him outside court.
But DailyMail.com understands that the missing witness is Megan’s security guard, Justin Edison, who is believed to have testimony vital to the prosecution’s case.
Megan Thee Stallion's bodyguard Justin Edison is still reportedly unaccounted for after going missing earlier this week amid the ongoing trial against rapper Tory Lanez

Ta asked the judge to allow her to call the witness later, if and when he is located, and Judge Herriford told her he would rule on her request later.
Lanez, 30 - who wore a black suit and black turtleneck sweater to court Monday - has pleaded not guilty to three felony charges of assaulting Megan with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a concealed gun in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
The rapper- whose real name is Daystar Peterson - could spend up to 18 years in prison if convicted of all three felonies, plus possible deportation.
Megan’s bodyguard, Edison was ‘unaccounted for’ over last weekend but an official missing persons case has reportedly not been opened by the LAPD.
He was the person Megan’s best friend and assistant, Kelsey Harris sent texts saying, ‘Help,’ ‘Tory Shot Meg,’ and ‘911’ shortly after the shooting.
And according to the prosecution’s opening statements in the trial, Edison can testify that the day after the shooting, Lanez told him he had fired the gun into the ground several times.
After his disappearance was reported, LMegan's attorney, Alex Shapiro, said: 'We recently learned that Justin Edison went missing right before he was scheduled to appear in court. The LAPD is currently looking into his disappearance, and welcome any information about his whereabouts.'

Judge Herriford Monday also denied a prosecution bid to add two felony witness tampering counts to the three charges rapper Lanez is already facing for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet.
Ta told the court that she was filing a motion for the new charges based on testimony from Megan and her best friend and assistant Harris that after the shooting, Lanez offered both of them $1 million ‘bribes’ to keep quiet about the incident.
Defense attorney George Mgdesyan vehemently objected, saying that prosecutors have had ‘every opportunity’ to file new charges since last September when Harris gave an interview to the Los Angeles DA in which she talked about the $1 million offer.
Judge David Herriford agreed, pointing out to Ta that the trial is almost finished and telling her, ‘I think you are putting the defense in an extremely difficult position.'
‘It’s unfair at this juncture and I am denying this motion,' Herriford said.

Megan Thee Stallion's assistant Kelsey Harris (pictured) revealed Tory Lanez threatened to shoot her before opening fire on the singer's feet
In her testimony last week, Megan told the jury of seven women and five men that she and Lanez had been to a pool party July 12, 2020 at the home of Kylie Jenner - who may be called as defense witness - and was in his SUV in the Hollywood Hills with Kelsey Harris, when an argument erupted.
Megan - real name Megan Pete - asked the driver stop the car and she got out - which was when she said Lanez yelled ‘Dance b**ch’ and fired a gun several times at her.
The shooting injured the rapper's foot so seriously that she needed surgery.
She also testified that Lanez offered her and Harris a million dollars to keep quiet about the shooting in detail.
Lanez - who is free on $350,000 bail - later apologized to her, saying he was drunk at the time of the shooting.
Meanwhile, his defense team has been pushing the theory that it wasn’t Lanez but Harris who fired the gun at the 'Anxiety' rapper.
Lanez's lawyers say Harris fired at Megan in a fit of jealousy and anger when she found out the singer had ‘backstabbed’ her by sleeping with Lanez, whom Kelsey had a crush on.
The court heard Monday that Harris wrote a ‘revenge’ song called 'Bussin Back' - released on November 2020 - in which she included lyrics intended to ‘diss’ Megan.
The song has lyrics like ‘who I’m takin’ shots at - b***h, I’m busting you,’ and ‘imagine lying’ to the DA, saying I took some hush money.'
Earlier, Megan’s stylist, Eric Culberson, was called to the witness stand where he told the jury that on July 11 2020, several hours before the shooting, he was with Megan at a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s home where they partied with Kylie, NFL star Odell Beckham Jr, Kelsey Harris and late arrival Tory Lanez.
At the party, he told the court, Megan was ‘drunk - she was pretty loud and got a little aggressive.’
At one point, he said, Megan made a ‘slight comment to Kylie’ after Kelsey had told her that Kylie was a ‘fun’ person. ‘And Megan told Kylie, “I’m glad because I thought you were lame!”’
When Megan’s wig started to come off and she got ‘irritated.’
The party ended, and Culberson said he took Megan and Kelsey’s bags out to his car which he thought they were leaving in.
Lanez's lawyers say her former assistant Harris (pictured above in a court sketch) is the person responsible for the shooting
When defense lawyer Mgdesyan asked him if he had looked into any of the women’s bags and ‘seen something that looked like a firearm,’ he said, ‘I didn’t look. I picked up the bags and put them in my car.’’
Megan didn’t not have her security guard with her that day and when Mgdesyan asked Culberson how she protected herself when without guard, he said she traveled with mace, a taser and peppers spray.
Asked if he had ever seen a handgun when traveling with Megan and Harris, he said, ‘Not that I recall, he said, adding that he ‘possibly’ may have seen something that looked like a firearm, ‘But I don’t know.’
’Have you ever seen a Tory with a gun…running around with guns?’ asked Mgdesyan,. ‘No,’ said Culberson, who also said that he never thought of Lanez as ‘dangerous.’
He also said ‘No’ when DDA Bott asked, ‘Have you seen the big gun that Tory has tattooed on the center of his chest.’
And Bott got the same ’no’ answer when he sarcastically asked if he had seen Kelsey Harris with ‘a gun tucked into her bikini’ after she and Megan left Kylie Jenner’s party still in their bathing suits.
Culbertson raised a laugh from jurors - and a smile from Lanez - when he revealed that he did didn’t see Lanez with a gun either - since ‘he was wearing just boxers…well, drawers.’
