A man shot by police in Nevada for wielding a knife was wanted across the country in connection to a missing man.
Marcus Lee Lewis (pictured) was shot multiple times by a Reno officer after they received notice of an armed man with a knife near the valet parking area of Silver Legacy Casino on December 4.
Bodycam footage showed officers warning Lewis multiple times to put the knife down before one deployed a taser at him that was ineffective.
Lewis was then shot multiple times and detained for resisting a public officer with a dangerous weapon and walking along an open highway.
Investigators later discovered that Lewis was wanted in Virginia in a missing man case.
In the footage, officers can be heard talking Lewis down and begging him to drop the knife. 'Drop the knife dude, c'mon,' one officer can be heard shouting as others arrived at the scene. Several officers warned Lewis to get down as the taser was shot along with another officer's firearm. Lewis was on the ground for a moment before getting up again. 'Stop dude stop, literally drop it man,' an officer yelled as Lewis continued to run away.
About six shots were then shot at Lewis as he attempted to enter the casino. He refused to tell officers his name.
Lewis was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later identified as the man connected to the disappearance of 35-year-old Joshua Dee Bradford (pictured), according to WHSV.
Bradford was last seen in Luray, Virginia with Lewis on September 3. The missing man was described as a 5'11 and 170 pound white man with brown eyes. He was last seen getting into Lewis' 2009 Blue Chevrolet Malibu (pictured) and is known in the Virginia area.
