Washington Commanders safety Jeremy Reaves broke down after being told by head coach Ron Rivera he had been selected for the Pro Bowl.

On Wednesday the NFL announced its pro bowl selections for the annual game, which will be held in February at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, after fans, players and coaches voted for the league's top players.

Reaves, who was undrafted in 2018 before signing with the Eagles as a free agent, was one of four members of Washington's roster to earn a spot at the game.

In an emotional clip shared to the Commanders' social media pages, coach Rivera can be seen breaking the news to wide receiver Terry McLaurin, defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, and punter Tress Way before calling Reaves into the locker room.

'Congratulations,' Rivera began telling Reaves. 'You're the Pro Bowl special teams guy. You're the starter.'

Reaves was left speechless as he broke down into tears, before Rivera clapped him on the back and insisted: 'You've earned it young man. Everything you've done.'

'And I know, your mom would be proud,' the coach added before brining his safety in for a hug.

Way, who was told first in the video, had pleaded with Rivera to be part of the reveal, saying he would hide until the coach had made the announcement.

After Rivera had told Reaves, Way appeared from his hiding spot and gave Reaves a massive embrace.

Reaves' selection comes after a trying journey in the NFL, with the former South Alabama star being cut four times throughout his career in the league before earning a spot on the Commanders' 53-man squad this season.

Following the announcement, Reaves took to Twitter to claim he 'just don't quit.'
