An Australian family's relaxing holiday in Bali turned into a disaster after the villa they were staying in flooded with water.

TikToker Jamie Crops travelled to the popular tourist destination in October and stayed in a luxury villa in the beach resort area of Seminyak, located on the southern end of Bali.

However, after the region was hit with torrential rain and a heavy storm, she and her travelling companions were left wading in water throughout the villa.

The video shared by Bali Livin on Wednesday shows the entire interior area of the villa completely flooded, with half a metre of murky water seen throughout.

The accommodation's exterior was also affected by the deluge, with the villa's luxury pool obscured from view.

The video was captioned: 'Free floating breakfast they said', which referenced an original Balinese concept of presenting food in a waterproof rattan tray and floating it in a swimming pool.

The Bali tourists had to put all of their belongings on top of furniture strewn around the villa in an attempt to air-dry the waterlogged items.

The empty suitcases were filled with puddles of water as they were placed on top of tables and couches to avoid further damage.

Social media users saw the funny side to the holiday horror, with some sarcastically wishing the tourists a 'happy holiday'.

'It’s the time of the year when it rains almost everyday, what do we expect,' one user wrote.

'Free floating bed, sofa and some of your clothes too,' another joked.

A third chimed: 'Villa for rent. Comes with infinity pool and beyond.'

The wet season in Bali is from November to March, with each month receiving at least 190mm of rain on average. However, the wet season coincides with the low travel season which generally means less tourists and a more budget friendly trip (pictured, Seminyak Beach, Bali)

The wet season in Bali is from November to March, however many consider October part of the rainy season since almost half of the month experiences rainfall.

There is at least 190mm of rain each month from November to March with at least half the days of the month receiving rainfall. January is the peak month of the wet season, with an average of 27 rainy days.

The wet season also brings hot temperatures and coincides with the low travel season and generally sees less tourism leading to a more budget friendly trip.
