An unhinged woman was escorted out of the theater after she refused to leave and tried to stop a Broadway performance.

The unidentified woman, who many theatergoers said was under the influence, caused a disruption during Act 2 of Death of a Salesman at the Hudson Theater in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday.

The commotion was so bad the cast was ordered off stage, but lead actor Wendell Pierce, who stars in HBO's The Wire and played Meghan Markle's on-screen dad in Suits, broke character to plead with the woman.

'Alright, here's the deal, I'll give you your money back,' he told the woman, who was wearing a fur coat. 'If you would like your money back, I will guarantee your money back.'

A Reddit user, who goes by Toss182 on the platform, said they were 'four seats away from the lady' and her husband, who were sitting 'front row center.'

'During Act 1, she was constantly going through her bag loudly, and yelling responses to what the actors were saying. She was very obviously drunk and/or high.'

They also claimed that her husband 'tried to get her to leave' the three-hour play during intermission, but as Act 2 began, the woman started 'screaming at the top of her lungs that she wasn't leaving and if she couldn't see the rest of the show neither would anyone else.'

Video of the event shows the woman making her way back to the front of the theater, standing right next to the stage and appeared to argue with her husband.

Her husband told her to 'stop' at one point, but she replied that she wasn't 'playing' as Pierce leaned over and tried to reason with the couple.

The husband than started to 'demand their money back,' according to the Reddit user, and Pierce told the usher to grab the money from the petty cash to pay them. It is unclear if they received a refund.

'I said I'll give you your money back' Pierce, who plays Detective Bunk Moreland in HBO's The Wire, can be heard saying.

'Now!' the woman appeared to yell.

Seconds later, two NYPD officers arrived and they were escorted out of the theater.

As the audience began to cheer as she walked out, the woman turned around and flipped them off.

The woman was not arrested, according to the NYPD, and the issue was 'corrected.'

'I wish they would have dragged her out but they reasoned with her and she left with the husband,' the Reddit user wrote.

The cast restarted the scene from the top after they left.

The play's producers told the New York Post: 'We’re grateful to the entire team at the Hudson Theatre for working together to resolve the situation and resume the performance as quickly as possible.'

Death of a Salesman will be on Broadway until January 15.

Pierce was nominated for an Olivier for his performance on London's West End production of the play.

Pierce is never one to settle away from drama. After his former costar Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry gave a bombshell interview to Oprah, he called it 'insignificant' compared to the amount of people dying per day from COVID-19 at the time.

'Today 3,000 people are going to die in America from COVID. A couple of hundred people are going to die, even this hour, in the UK,' he said on radio station LBC in March 2021.

The actor, who said he had not spoken to the Duchess since 2019, added: 'It was quite insensitive and offensive that we are all complicit in this sort of palace… gossip in the midst of so much death. I think it is insignificant.'

Asked who he included in this criticism, he said 'everyone' including Oprah, US network CBS, ITV, Prince Harry and Meghan, and the Palace.

He later came out to say that his words were twisted and that his 'comments were about the obsession around the royal family and it shouldn't take priority over the deaths of the pandemic.'

'I'm living and working in Budapest. I'm not into the royals and my point was we are all complicit in this whirlwind of royal obsession that feeds the tabloids while so much death is around us. That's the wrong priority. I've known 12 people to die. I didn't see the interview or know it was about her suicidal thoughts,' he told ET at the time.
