A devoted sister has left social media users in stitches with her 'priceless' Facebook Marketplace ad selling her brother's engagement ring.
Melissa Settles, a 41-year-old court-appointed special advocate for children in foster care from St. Simons Island, Georgia, decided to help her 27-year-old firefighter brother, Patrick, 'unload' the jewelry.
The post explains that while 'the girl is gone' the ring is still up for grabs.

Melissa Settles, 41, from Georgia, decided to help brother Patrick, a 27-year-old firefighter, 'unload' the jewelry
The post explains that while Patrick's (pictured above) 'girl is gone' the ring is still up for grabs
As for the jewelry, it's not a diamond but rather moissanite – made from silicone carbonite – but still a gorgeous ring and offered at $2,595.
'My super cute, super sweet, amazing firefighter brother's loss can be a big win for you!' the post reads.
'The girl is gone, but we still need to unload the jewelry!
'The ring is no lie more beautiful in person!! Round brilliant Forever One 2.7 CT Moissanite by Charles and Colvard 4 prong classic cathedral setting engagement ring (size 5) with 14 natural round pave diamonds (0.5 CT TW) cascading halfway down the band.
'Lifetime Warranty! Paid $2595. Paperwork included. His loss can be your gain!'
Melissa also uploaded a picture of Patrick at a waterpark with friends and a shot of her brother in uniform to help bolster sales.
When asked why she wrote the post, Melissa explained that she simply wanted to help her brother out.
Patrick had already tried to sell the ring in the area where he lives, but no one seemed to jump at the offer.
'I don't think I had actually thought about the why,' Melissa said.
'It just seemed so normal or natural to help my brother out.

Melissa posted some 'hotties' with the ad, which she called her 'secret weapon' (Patrick and his friends pictured)
'As a result [of him not being able to sell it himself], I offered to post the ring in my area, where I believe it would have a better chance of being sold.
'The first time I posted an ad for the ring in my area, I got little to no response.
'There were no real offers or serious inquiries. Then, as I kept seeing the ring box in my room, I wanted to try a new approach.
'The second time I posted it, I thought I would do something different to get more attention.
'Perhaps I should also disclose that when I created the post, I might have had a couple of glasses of wine.'
Melissa's secret weapon for making a sale was throwing some 'hotties' into her ad.
'I also included a picture of my brother in his dress uniform while obscuring anything that might identify him,' she said.
'Even so, anyone can see that he's very handsome!'
And the ad appears to have worked, but users were more interested in Patrick than the engagement ring (Patrick pictured with his friends)

And the ad appears to have worked, but not quite as expected.
'The responses I have gotten from the ad have been incredible,' Melissa said.
'I heard from people that were just cruising through Facebook Marketplace and appreciated the fact that I was trying to insert a little humor into the situation.
'There were a few people that wanted more info about the ring however, my favorite responses are the hilarious, adorable, and oh-so-provocative responses I've gotten from local single ladies.
'Most say they're more interested in the fireman than the ring.
'I just want to help Patrick recoup some of the money he paid for the ring.
'As a firefighter, he does not make nearly the amount of money that he should be paid for the job that he does and the hours he works.
'As a result, every little bit counts.'
Social media users have been quick to respond to the unusual listing

'This is priceless,' one user wrote.
'And here I was just surfing marketplace on a Friday night for a good deal,' a second user said.
'It's a beautiful ring and your brother is lucky to have such a caring sister. Hopefully it can find a new home and he can find peace and the actual love of his life now,' a third person added.
'This is the best post ever!!! He will have no problems finding the right one!' a fourth user said.
