More men than women have thought about separating or divorcing next year, according to a survey.
A quarter of men admitted they had contemplated leaving their partner in 2023, compared with 14 per cent of women, the study by charity Relate found.
The poll of 2,033 adults also found that financial problems could spell the end for many couples, with 39 per cent of men expecting the cost of living crisis to put pressure on their relationships in the next year compared with 31 per cent of women.

It comes as divorce lawyers prepare for the busiest day of the year – the first working Monday of January.
Solicitors are expecting a surge in new clients on January 9, because marital tensions typically escalate over the festive period.
Relate, which provides free counselling services to struggling couples, often sees a peak in inquiries at this time.
