Lady Susan Hussey is set to be invited to the King’s coronation after she apologised to a charity campaigner who accused her of racial ‘abuse’.

The former lady-in-waiting to the late Queen, who was retained by the King in an honorary role, resigned in November after repeatedly asking Ngozi Fulani where she was ‘really from’ during a Buckingham Palace reception.

Lady Susan, 83, later met Ms Fulani and offered her ‘sincere apologies’ for her comments. A source told the Sunday Mirror that Lady Susan, a godmother to Prince William, was on the guest list for the coronation on May 6, although invitations have yet to be issued.

Some 2,000 guests are expected to attend the two-hour service at Westminster Abbey. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also expected to be invited, despite their explosive Netflix series.
