The missing man whose foot was discovered floating in a Yellowstone hot spring did not leave a suicide note in his car, National Park Service documents revealed.

Authorities recovered a laptop computer, photo album, notebook, and collection of annotated poems from the car of Los Angeles man Il Hun Ro, after it was left abandoned in the visitor car park last summer.

The black shoe of the missing 70 year-old was first sighted by a visitor to the park on August 16, floating on the surface of the Abyss Pool. The ranger sent to the scene was shocked to discover a bone protruding from the rescued footwear, and immediately cordoned off the area.

The foot was identified as Ro's through DNA matching to a relative, but no other remains have been found in the West Thumb Geyser Basin area.

Certain 'fatty tissues' noted floating on the pool's surface were also tested by investigators, but it is unclear if these were from the missing man's body.

A collection of items, including a wallet containing a drivers license and $447, a photo album, and a book of poem with handwritten notes were discovered in Ro's nearby Kia Niro crossover SUV.

Both the poetry and notes were written in a language other than English. Their contents have been redacted in the recently released report, and it is unclear what language they were written in. Using Google Translate, investigators found nothing implying a suicide note, however.

The new documents did not reveal any further solid evidence as to the nature of the missing man's presumed death. Park officials have previously clarified that they do not suspect foul play.

Yellowstone National Park's hot springs, which reach temperatures of over 140F, are well protected by boardwalks and barriers. Abyss Pool, one of the park's deepest, is similarly cordoned off to prevent eager tourists from getting too close.

Visitors are warned that stepping off designated pathways can be incredibly dangerous, and the park's geothermal pools, geysers and mudpots have previously caused 20 deaths.

Nothing is known as to how Ro's foot ended up in the pool, nor how it was separated from the rest of his body.
