A Texas man was arrested after allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman he met through the Bumble online dating app.
Zachary Kent Mills, 21, of Tomball, Texas - roughly 35 miles outside of Houston - was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated kidnapping on December 30 after holding an unidentified woman in his apartment for five days.
The 'severely assaulted' woman contacted police from his neighbor's home on December 29 after she managed to escape his apartment on Kuykendahl Road when he left to visit his father, ABC 13 Houston reported.
Through further investigation, Harris County Constable Mark Herman was able to determine the woman had been 'held her against her will' since December 24, after Mills picked her up from her apartment and brought her back to his.
After arriving at the apartment, Mills 'immediately' attempted to have sex with the woman, the criminal complaint said, and after she 'declined the defendant's sexual advances, he immediately began to physically assault her and would not let her leave the residence.'

He used a 'closed fist' to hit her in the face and neck and after he grew tired, he would 'grab a screwdriver and hit her with the handle.'
Mills also allegedly starved his date for the entire five days.
When he left to go to his father's house, the victim 'gathered up her clothes' and sought the neighbor for help and later identified Mills to police through his driver's license photo.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries, Herman said. She left the residency with severe bruising on the majority of her body, bite marks, and cuts to both her throat and nose.
Mills was booked into the Harris County Jail on a $50,000 bail. He could be charged with additional counts following an investigation, Herman said.
He is currently under 24-hour house arrest and cannot go near the victim, according to his bond conditions, ABC 13 Houston said.

His attorney, Chris Denuna, said his client is 'presumed innocent' at the moment and said they are working on a defense after Mills appeared in court.
He is due back in court in March.
Bumble said it was 'shocked and saddened to hear about this horrible crime' in a statement and that Mills has been banned from the app.
