The Mamas and the Papas' Michelle Phillips, 78, is stylish as ever as she steps out for lunch

Michelle Phillips, the last surviving member of folk group The Mamas and the Papas, was seen grabbing lunch in Los Angeles with TV actress Susan Blakely. 

DailyMail.com saw the 78-year-old, who co-founded the band in the 1960s with then-husband John Phillips, enjoying a three-hour lunch at old school Italian favorite Pastina Trattoria in West LA.

The singer was stylish in a long-sleeve black top, leggings, brown suede over-the-knee boots and a flannel jacket for the outing and looked in great spirits as she smiled and waved to fans passing by. 

After the lunch she emerged arm-in-arm with Susan, 74, who found fame starring in ABC miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man, in 1976.

The mother-of-three has kept a low profile in recent years, but still occasionally shows up at red carpet events. 

Michelle was last seen in public in October when she honored her late bandmate  'Mama' Cass Elliot at a ceremony to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Elliot- best known for her work with The Mamas and the Papas - passed away due to heart failure in London at just 32 in 1974.

Michelle was the first presenter to speak at the ceremony, wearing black glasses, a black long-sleeved shirt, black earrings, black pants and black shoes.

'On our first meeting, Cass and I experienced our first acid trip. It was 1965,' Michelle said at the ceremony.

'We never came down. We bonded. She was my best friend. She gave me courage to sing when I thought I couldn't make a note. She'd say, 'Hey just go for it. You know I'm gonna make it.' And so I went for it,' she added.

Mama Cass was honored by singers Carnie Wilson, Chynna Phillips, Bijou Phillips and Mackenzie Phillips, along with Cass' child Owen Elliot-Kugell, Mickey Dolenz and more.

The group is know for their hits California Dreamin', Dedicated to the One I Love, and Glad to Be Unhappy.

Bandmate Denny Doherty died age 66 of kidney failure in 2007. Michelle began an affair with Doherty in 1965, while still married to John.

John Phillips, who Michelle divorced in 1969 after seven years of marriage, also died of heart failure aged 65 in 2001. 

The couple finally divorced in 1969 with their marriage marred by infidelity. They shared daughter, singer Chynna Phillips, together.

Michelle also has son Austin Deveraux Hines with actor Grainger Hines and adopted Aron Wilson, who was a friend of Austin's, in the late 1980s.

The iconic singer, who later transitioned into acting, was married to actor Dennis Hopper for just eight days.
