Las Vegas Raiders plan to 'aggressively pursue Buccaneers QB Tom Brady for the 2023 season'

After falling out of the playoffs this season, the Las Vegas Raiders are already planning to pursue their next starting quarterback this offseason.

While the option to draft a quarterback with the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft remains a possibility, reports say the team is looking to be 'very aggressive' in pursuing Tom Brady this Spring.

With Brady's contract set to expire and no deal to stay in Tampa Bay agreed to, the Raiders believe they have a good chance of bringing him to the desert, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

Additionally, Jones says the 'prevailing belief' is that Brady will continue to play - with other teams potentially interested including the 49ers and Titans - as opposed to retiring from the sport.

A prime reason why Brady is linked with the Raiders is their head coach Josh McDaniels, who was the offensive coordinator in New England for years when Tom was there.

On top of that, Brady would also be familiar with Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler, who also spent a considerable amount of time with the Patriots.

Las Vegas may be able to use the chance to pair Brady with Davante Adams as a pitch to recruit the greatest quarterback to play the game.

All this is happening while Vegas decides what to do with current starting quarterback Derek Carr.

The team benched Carr for the final two games of the regular season - as the Raiders were already eliminated from the playoffs.

It hasn't yet been decided if Carr will be cut by the Raiders or if they'll be able to find a way to trade him.

Jones believes the most Las Vegas will get in a trade for the 2014 second-round draft pick out of Fresno State is a 2023 second-round pick.
