McLovin it! McDonald's customer claims he was handed a bag of CASH while going through drive-thru

A McDonald's customer who swung by the drive-thru for a sausage McMuffin got a surprise extra side - in the form of several Ziploc bags full of cash. 

Lucky diner Josiah Vargas was about to tuck into his fast food when he found wads of dollar bills in the plastic to-go bag, and got straight on TikTok to document his find. 

The video has since had more than 891,000 views and gained 205,000 likes.

'What's in this bag? Their f**king deposits,' Vargas said in the TikTok video as he revealed pouches full of bills.

'Just a couple thousand dollars here. Like, what is this? Why would they do this?

'Now I have to return this because I'm a good person, I guess,' added Vargas.

Vargas did not reveal the location of the restaurant, and while he did not walk away with the bags of money, he did get free McDonald's for a month and $200 as a thank you.

When he returned the money, Vargas couldn't help but jokingly ask the employees if they were money laundering, with the crew visibly relieved that they got the cash back. 

'They were just all hugging me and thanking me and crying, and I get free McDonald's for a month, I guess,' Vargas said of his good deed. 

McDonald's did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment.  

In a follow-up video, Vargas admitted that he later went back to McDonald's — but this time, they had no idea who he was.

'They put my name down and my number, and I had to pay for my two McChickens and a Sprite, which is fine. I'm not too worried about it,' he claimed.

'That's a McRipoff!' one person commented in response.

The episode with Vargas isn't unique. Back in 2013. a Tennessee couple ordering breakfast at their local McDonald's were also accidentally given a bag full of cash. 

Greg and Stacye Terry, of Hermitage, were accidentally handed thousands of dollars, which were supposed to be deposited in the bank but somehow ended up in the drive-through window.

After being handed a standard McDonald's bag containing what they thought to be their food, the Terrys drove off and were shocked to discover the banknotes in their order.

The costly mistake was quickly discovered, and the Terrys did the right thing by returning their unexpected windfall without a moment's hesitation.

‘My husband opened the bag and discovered the money inside,’ Stacye told NewsChannel5. ‘He said, “You are not going to believe this.” Sure enough, it was their bank deposit money.’

‘The second that he said it was their deposit, my first thing was let's get in the truck and take it back,’ said Stacye. ‘There is no other way to have it. I couldn't live with myself.’
