A woman has sparked a fierce debate over how often to wash your nightwear, after admitting she's slept in the same pajamas three nights in a row.

Allison Delperdang, a blogger from Iowa, posted a video on TikTok which has racked up more than 800,000 views saying: 'I need to know if people wear pajamas multiple nights in a row.'

Wearing a cream pajama romper and her hair styled down in loose waves, Allison (@Allisondelperdang on Instagram and TikTok) admitted she'd worn her attire for three nights in a row.

But viewers were not united in their opinion on the matter, with some supporting Allison, while others saying they wash their pajamas after every wear.

Seeking answers on TikTok, Allison said: 'I need to know if people wear pajamas multiple nights in a row.

'When I was younger, my parents always made us wear pajamas multiple nights in a row because they weren't dirty - and I still do that as an adult.'

'So I need to know if as adults we're still doing that or should I be literally making dirty clothes every single night.

'Are we wearing pajamas multiple nights? What's the situation?' Allison asked.

TikTok users flooded into the comments section to share their opinion, with many agreeing that pajamas can be worn a number of times before being washed.

One wrote: 'I wear them for like a week straight, haha. I hate doing laundry.'

Another shocked user said: 'Wait. There's people that DON'T wear their pjs multiple nights in a row????'

'I wear it till I feel like it's dirty or I have a rough night of sweating,' one comment said.

Another wrote: 'Yes and I put them under my pillow when I make my bed!!'

One user praised re-wearing pajamas as eco-friendly, saying: 'Saving the environment and your clothes! If it's not dirty/smelly then why wash it? I wear mine for a week in winter!'

One wrote: 'Nope, wash daily.'

Another said: 'Fresh set each night over here...I'm 48 isn't that what we're supposed to be doing?'

But other viewers commented that they wash their pajamas every night, with one asking: 'isn't that what we're supposed to be doing?'

One viewer said they change their pajamas daily because of the climate, writing: 'A fresh one every night as I live on a tropical island with a hot and humid climate so lots of sweating.'

Another said they also change their towels every night, saying: 'I change towel and pajamas every night.

'That was something mom made me do as a kid. Not everyone does that?'
