The Michigan Wolverines have fired co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss as the University police investigate possible computer-access crimes within the football building.
Athletic Director Warde Manuel announced the news Friday, saying that Weiss was dismissed 'after a review of university policies.'
Manuel's brief statement did not offer any more information.
Weiss, who also served as the Wolverines' quarterbacks coach, released his own statement Friday that also refrained from addressing the investigation.

'I have nothing but respect for the University of Michigan and the people who make it such a great place,' Weiss said. 'I look forward to putting this matter behind me and returning my focus to the game that I love.'
As reported by the Detroit News, Weiss' Ann Arbor, Michigan home was searched by police on January 10. He has not been charged with any crime, and claims to be cooperating with police inquiries.
Weiss was hired two years earlier by head coach Jim Harbaugh, who promoted the 39-year-old Connecticut native to co-offensive coordinator in 2022. Weiss shared play-calling duties with Sherrone Moore.
Previously, Weiss worked with Harbaugh's brother, Baltimore Ravens head coach John, in various assistant coaching positions for the NFL club.
Weiss was a walk-on punter at Vanderbilt, where he played from 2001 until 2003.
Michigan nearly went undefeated with Weiss calling at least a portion of the offensive plays, while quarterback JJ McCarthy ranked 23rd in the country in quarterback rating. The Wolverines' season ended with a College Football Playoff semifinals loss to TCU, but Michigan did beat rival Ohio State for the second time with Weiss on the staff.
