49ers 7-31 Eagles: Philadelphia is on its way to the Super Bowl - and it's Bengals or Chiefs next!

Ultimately, San Francisco's bad luck at quarterback caught up with it and its 12-game winning streak came to a crashing end. 

The Eagles proved too formidable for the Niners and eventually San Francisco's defense couldn't keep them at bay, leading to a series of penalties. 

Jalen Hurts and Co. helped the Eagles soar into the Super Bowl for the first time in five years. 

The Eagles, who won the Super Bowl five years ago with a different coach and quarterback, will try to do it again behind the formidable duo of Hurts and coach Nick Sirianni. 

Philadelphia will play either the Cincinnati Bengals or former Eagles coach Andy Reid's Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles secure a dominant 7-31 victory and claim the NFC Championship crown over a severely depleted San Francisco team. 

With a trip to the Super Bowl pretty much wrapped up, Minshew is in at quarterback for the Eagles to rest Hurts ready for a showdown against either the Bengals or the Chiefs. 

Ooof there's the heat!

Something sparked a scuffle on the field between multiple players from both sides. But out of nowhere Trent Williams grabs Wallace by back of his jersey and hurls him to the turf. 

Wallace then gets up and immediately responds by throwing a punch.. but he gets the wrong guy, clocking Aaron Banks in the face instead.

It sparks a mass bench-clearing brawl as both sides flood the field to join the melee, with flags practically raining down from the refs. San Francisco have probably given up caring at this point but the Eagles need to be careful with the Super Bowl at risk for their players. 

It leads to 49ers lineman Trent Williams and Eagles safety K’Von Wallace both being ejected.

Deebo Samuel hasn't given up... just yet anyway. 

He receives the ball deep in the end zone and charges up the field, breaking multiple tackles before finally being brought down.

Jake Elliott’s 31-yard field goal attempt is good and extends the lead for the hosts. 

It's become a full on bloodbath now, almost painful to watch as San Francisco implodes. 

Oh, the 49ers have well and truly unraveled now. 

If they hadn't lost their heads before they most certainly have now.  Dre Greenlaw just punched at the ball nestled in Kenneth Gainwell’s hands after the whistle had already been blown on the play. 

Another penalty for San Francisco for unnecessary roughness. Honestly, I've lost count at this point. 

There's ANOTHER injury in the game but for once it's not for San Francisco. 

Landon Dickerson gets up from landing a hit clutching his arm. He looks shaky on his feet, and drops back down to one knee and trainers rush on to the field to tend to him. 

He walks off and reportedly heads to the locker room.

With San Francisco scraping the barrel for quarterbacks, Christian McCaffrey is presumed to be the emergency backup. 

And he's got the seal of approval from PGA Tour and US Ryder Cup star Justin Thomas, wo claimed it would be 'electric'.

With Johnson out, Purdy has been back in but seems incapable of throwing the ball - kind of an essential part of being a quarterback and all - due to the elbow knock he picked up in the first half and the Niners offense doesn't appear capable of playing a pass game. 

Josh Johnson has now been officially ruled out with a concussion.

The quarterback appeared to hit his head on the turf following a hit from Suh in the third quarter and paid a trip to the medical tent before heading straight to the locker room. 

On 3rd and goal, Jalen Hurts rushes one yard for the hosts' fourth touchdown and the extra point is good.

It was the quarterback's 15th rushing touchdown of the season, breaking Cam Newton's record (in 2011) for most in a single season by a QB in NFL history (including playoffs).

It's a long, long, long way back for the Niners now. 

Hurts breaks free and runs it almost all the way to the end zone. The QB has clearly given himself up and runs it out of bounds but with the most blatant late hit of all time (not to be dramatic) Hufanga shoves him in the back, sending him to the ground. 

Frustrations are really beginning to show for the San Francisco defense now, understandable given how much pressure they're under. 

On 3rd and 6, Ward makes a huge interception after chasing down XX who broke free. It forced the Eagles to go for the punt. 

San Francisco receives the ball but a flag is thrown for rushing the kick and the Niners are handed a 15-yard penalty. They just can't catch a break. 

It is looking like a disaster for the Niners as Johnson is seen leaving the medical tent and heads straight to the locker room.

Brock Purdy is coming back out on to the field but really not sure how much he can do. Christian McCaffrey is the emergency backup QB, talk about him carrying the team. 

It's so loud inside the Linc that Josh Johnson is having to gesture to Kyle Shanahan on the sideline to call the plays again because he can't hear. 

Suh has just forced an incomplete by tackling Johnson and that hit has seemingly forced the Niners QB out of the game.

Medical staff are on the field taking a look at the backup and he goes off. Looks like a concussion check, he was slow to get up from the hit. 

You simply could not write this. That is the fourth quarterback the 49ers have lost this season and the second this game. 

Is it possible to run out of quarterbacks? Asking for a friend. On a serious note, Shanahan might have to turn to Christian McCaffrey. 

But a glimmer of hope Purdy is back on... remains to be seen if he can throw though or if he will just hand it off.

And we're back underway in Philly!

The Niners have the ball, can they find a way to get back on track and fast?

Brock Purdy reportedly is dressed out for the second half, but isn't throwing on the sideline, while Josh Johnson warming up. Looks like Purdy's game might be over. 

We head into halftime with the Eagles having proven why they're the No. 1 seed. The hosts have opened a dominant lead thanks to Miles Sanders and Boston Scott's late second-quarter touchdowns and are well and truly on track for a trip to the Super Bowl.

It's really hard to see how fourth choice quarterback Josh Johnson can lead a comeback here but never say never.

Instead of responding, the Niners defense is called in again after the ball comes loose for San Francisco and the Eagles’ Hasson Reddick, who has been everywhere tonight, recovers.

Eagles' possession again and their offense are dominating the Niners. Hurts passes it off to Boston Scott who runs it into the end zone. That's the third rushing TD of the first half.

It's passed off to Sanders on the left side who rushes for his second touchdown of the game to wrap up a monster 14-play, 75-yard drive for Philadelphia. 

Absolute nightmare of a drive for the 49ers, who practically gifted the Eagles the chance to extend it and score with three flags on the Niners defense.  

The hosts knock 6:53 off the clock and go up just before halftime. 

Things are getting loud at the Linc, so loud in fact that former pass rusher Chris Long's Apple watch has sent out a noise warning. 

After a number of stuttering plays from Philadelphia, Gainwell finally gets four yards and the Eagles have first down on San Francisco's 41. He then goes off for a 17-yard carry and that's a huge one. It takes the Eagles to the 49ers’ 24 and us to the two-minute warning!

Los Angeles Angels star and long-time Philly fan is at the Linc to cheers on his beloved eagles this afternoon. 

Christian McCaffrey has entered the chat!

He is making the Niners look like they have no quarterback issues at all. He's carried the team on this drive, making three huge plays and he finally clinches the all important one. 

He breaks the first tackle, the another and just refuses to be brought down as he muscles his way past the eagles defense and finds himself free to run it into the end zone to salvage San Francisco's hopes. 

Game on. 

San Francisco's defense has stepped up majorly amid its offensive woes. They manage to peg the Eagles back, forcing the punt from their own end zone. 

An incredible performance from the defense and the sole reason the Niners are still in the game. Unbelievably it's still only 0-7 to the Eagles. 

Brock Purdy is stood on the sideline with his right arm in a black brace... next to Trey Lance who has his foot also in a brace. Maybe by next season the Niners will have a healthy quarterback?

Bosa being looked at by medical staff stemmed from him being clipped on the sideline by the looks of things. 

The Eagles are adamant that Brett Kern's punt hit the Fox broadcast's overhead camera wire. But the refs can't confirm it and the Niners have the ball back and Josh Johnson will get another go. 

Now Nick Bosa is down for the 49ers. He's taken a knee on the sideline and is being looked at by medical staff but it's not clear what the issue is

Purdy is still out and the word coming through on the broadcast is that it is an elbow issue. 

Brock Purdy appears to have injured his shoulder on the fumble from Reddick and seems to be telling Shanahan on the sidelines that he can't throw. 

Backup, backup, backup quarterback Josh Johnson is on for the Niners offence.

After review, it's called a fumble and 'Mr. Irrelevant's' first stint on the field comes to an end and the Eagles take over again. 

Looking at the replays on the Fox broadcast it looks as if that unbelievable Devonta Smith really was too good to be true as it actually appears incomplete. But Kyle Shanahan doesn't challenge it and the Eagles got away with it. 

Nothing like a bit of refereeing controversy in an NFC Championship game right? 

On 2nd and goal the ball is handed off to Miles Sanders who breezes through the Niners defense and runs it into the end zone for the opening touchdown. Nice early lead for the Eagles... now it's Purdy time!

The Eagles are really cooking now! What a remarkable catch from Devonta Smith!

The Philly wide receiver makes an unbelievable one-handed snag in the air on fourth down to set up 1st and goal for the hosts.

Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown make a special play of a huge 3rd down. Browns is forced to go low to receive the quarterback's pass but pulls off a spectacular catch. 

Fred Warner is down on the second play and clutching that shoulder area. He jogs off to the medical tent.

If tensions were high before the game, they've skyrocketed now. There's a bit of a scuffle after the opening play but swiftly calms down. 

49ers won the toss and decided to defer... and we're underway in Philly!

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders has paid tribute to Damar Hamlin by showing off custom-made cleats ahead of the team's NFL Conference title game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. 

The 25-year-old proudly shared a clip of his new boots on his Instagram profile on Thursday ahead of Eagles practice. The tip of his left shoe displays Hamlin's jersey No. 3 as well as the Bills safety's renown 'Did we win?' question he asked doctors after waking up from a cardiac arrest he suffered during the Bills-Bengals game on January 2. 

Sanders' right boot features an illustration of Hamlin, painted within the shape of a heart. The cleats are both covered in white, red and blue, which are the colors of the Buffalo Bills.

The city of Philadelphia is preparing for the aftermath of a potential Eagles victory in Sunday's NFC Championship and that includes the greasing of light poles in the hope of detering climbers. 

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement that Philadelphians are encouraged to celebrate 'safely and responsibly.'

Eagles fans have begun turning up in force at the Lincoln Financial Field in anticipation of this afternoon's blockbuster NFC Championship game. 

McCaffrey picked up a calf injury in the 49ers' 19-12 divisional round win over Dallas Cowboys last Saturday, before playing down the extent of his problem after the game.

The 26-year-old even sat out practice for San Francisco earlier this week while on the injury list with fellow running back Elijah Mitchell (groin) and Deebo Samuel (ankle).

But he insisted there was 'zero chance' he would miss the NFC title decider.
