Louisiana State University star wide receiver Malik Nabers was arrested on Monday on a misdemeanor charge of illegal carrying of a weapon, according to Orleans Parish Magistrate court documents.
According to court documents, Nabers was released and not required to post bail. He was scheduled to appear in Magistrate Court at 3pm CT on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old was spotted by officers on foot patrol who noticed an 'L-shaped object' in the front pocket of his pants.
An LSU spokesperson told ESPN that head coach Brian Kelly was aware of the incident and that the school was still gathering information about the incident.

Nabers is a 6-foot, 195-pound rising junior from Youngsville, Louisiana, who was a 3-star prospect coming out of high school.
He just finished his sophomore season at LSU and led the team with 72 receptions and 1,017 receiving yards.
He also recorded three touchdowns and averaged 14.1 yards per catch.
The 1,017 receiving yards ranked Nabers second in the SEC and was set to be the conference's leading returning wide recover after leading WR behind Jaylin Hyatt declared for the draft.
Another season of similar productions in college footballs' most competitive conference likely would have put him in position to be one of the highest ranked wide receivers in the 2024 NFL draft assuming he decided to go pro.
When the time comes for him to enter the draft now he will likely have to answer countless questions relating to his off the field behavior as a result of this incident.
It also remains to be seen what, if any action LSU will take against Nabers going forward.
