The sister of Idaho murder victim Kalyee Goncalves gave birth to a baby girl early Friday morning.

Alivea Goncalves gave birth at 4:21am, and named the girl Theodora MaddieKay Stevensen. Kalyee would have been an aunt had she not been killed.

The baby's middle name is a combination of Kalyee's and her best friend Maddie Mogen's. Maddie was also murdered in the quadruple homicide last November at their home at the University of Idaho, Moscow.

Kaylee and Maddie had been best friends since the sixth grade.

The Goncalves family posted a picture of the healthy newborn, and said they were 'blessed' by her arrival.

'Theodora #MaddieKay Stevenson arrived at 4:21a.m. 6lbs 5.8oz 19 inches,' the family wrote in an announcement on Facebook. 'Alivea and Robbie are doing great!'

Before the arrest of suspect Bryan Kohberger arrest, Alivea had vowed to continue searching for the killer of her 'baby sisters,' who both served as bridesmaids at her wedding.

'I promise to always make you proud, take the picture, and never stop fighting to find out the truth and make right whatever I can in this f****d up world,' she wrote.

'You guys aren't gone. You never could be. I'll find you always and everywhere. If you ever get tired of seeing the world, come rest in my heart. It's forever open to you guys. I'll keep you warm and keep you safe there,' she said.

Last month, Alivea told NewsNation her family was hoping to set up a foundation in the name of Kaylee and Maddie.

She also said 'the weight of the world was lifted off our shoulders' when her family heard of the arrest of Bryan Kohberger and read the damning evidence against him.

Lawyers are believed to be gearing up for the possibility of a death penalty trial for the 28-year-old criminal justice major - who remains the only suspect in the November 13 slayings of Goncalves, 21, Mogen, 21, and their roommates Xana Kernodle, 20 and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20.

Prosecutors haven't yet indicated whether they intend to pursue the death penalty for Kohberger, although it seems likely they will, given the gravity of his alleged crimes.

And now, Republican state lawmaker Rep. Bruce Skaug has introduced a bill that would once again allow for execution by firing squad in the state, as well as lethal injection.

Skaug's bill states that the Idaho Department of Corrections must determine whether execution by lethal injection is an available method no later than five days after a death warrant is issued.
