This is the moment a Bronx grocery store cashier was beaten by a woman and her daughters following an argument over skipping the line.

Cashier Lisbel Rodriguez Luna, 25, was attacked on Sunday, a week after a dispute where she reportedly called out the older attacker for jumping ahead to exchange a ticket for cash after returning recyclables.

According to the New York Post, after Ms Luna confronted the queue-jumpers the main instigator turned and said: '(...)that’s not your business. You better just give me my money.

‘I’m going to kick your a**. I’m going to (...) kill you. I’m going to bring my daughters and we’re all going to kick your a**!’"

Ms Luna said Monday after the attack: 'Nobody ever attacked me like that.'

She added she was scared to go back to work with her attackers on the loose but needed the money and to keep her job.

The footage shows the women storming the Bronx Food Universe grocery store and making a beeline to the cashier.

They grab her and start throwing punches. When a man intervenes to pull one away from Ms Luna, another starts hitting her from the other side.

Ms Luna appears to struggle free as coworkers come to her aid, but the women continue to assault her.

Finally, enough help her to escape back and out of her booth.

The store manager said he had confronted the women before the attack on Sunday.

They went so far as to try to hide Ms Luna, but to no avail.

The suspect is reported to have waited for her to come back to the desk before striking.

Recent NYPD figures show an upward trend in most major crime categories this year.

In January, it was revealed the year-on-year frequency of rapes, robberies and assaults were higher than the 12 months prior.

Data followed assurances from Mayor Eric Adams that crime was falling in the city.

Adams, who himself is a former NYPD police captain, unveiled his 'Blueprint to End Gun Violence' early last year, along with a 'Subway Safety Plan'.

New York City experienced a sharp increase in crime since 2020, especially in robberies. Meanwhile, Florida saw a 50% decrease in crime in 2020

The statistics paint a bleak picture of the city's efforts to address crime that's rocketed since the pandemic - a campaign that has been touted as successful several times over the past year by Mayor Eric Adams

NYC 2022 crime data showed that rapes, robberies, and assaults were all up from the year prior.

Accounts of rape - which rose through the pandemic - rose again by seven percent, with more than 120 occurring this year than last.

Robberies climbed 20 percent, despite measures taken by Adams to increase police presence throughout the city.

Assaults and theft throughout the city showed a significant rise in frequency, with felony assaults up 12 percent - 26,039 incidents this year compared to 22,835 seen last year - and burglaries up an alarming 25 percent.

All other crime categories - including grand larceny and motor vehicle theft - showed similar rises except for murders, despite the outset of the pandemic coming now nearly three years ago.
