Tom Brady pours cold water on NFL return rumors and and jokes he doesn't have time to unretire

Tom Brady has quashed rumors he could be considering a shocking return to the NFL, just a day after NFL Network host Rich Eisen suggested the seven-time Super Bowl winner 'might not be done.' 

Brady took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to respond to the claims, saying a new addition to the family is filling up his schedule.

'Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter,' he said.

Brady 's daughter Vivian hacked the former NFL quarterback's Instagram account last month to share some pictures of their newly-adopted Siamese kittens.

Brady, who has two children with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, including Vivian and 13-year-old son, Benjamin, initially revealed that he adopted several kittens earlier in February.

'Vivi wins again,' the three-time NFL MVP shared on Instagram, alongside a video of his new cats play-fighting. 'Thanks @loganryan and @coolmbreezy this is what my mornings are like now. @humansocietytampa they are in good, loving hands.'

Brady officially retired from the NFL - for a second time - just last month.

Brady announced his decision  on February 1 in an emotional video posted to social media.

The quarterback won six Super Bowls with the Patriots before adding one more with the Bucs in 2021, and it was thought his next career move was decided.

It was previously reported that Brady would transition to the broadcast booth with FOX Sports in 2024, with a reported ten-year, $375million contract waiting for him .

Eisen, however, yesterday added some doubt to the idea that Brady is done playing.

'This one just blew my mind: Tom Brady might not be done after all,' Eisen said on Monday as he shared rumors he heard from the NFL Combine.

'A couple people were just like, 'Hang on, just you wait.' And I was like, 'He's Instagramming out pictures of his cat.' But it doesn't look like he's getting big and fat, does it? Let it play out. Let's see who wants what.

'The one place that folks are saying to keep an eye out for is Miami,' Eisen continued.

'If the Dolphins, somehow or some way get a doctor's report or piece of information from a medical evaluation of Tua [Tagovailoa] that he may not be ready to go, and suddenly there's Tom Brady sitting in Florida, where his family is located and where he can easily locate himself - keep an eye out on that, I was told by a couple birdies at the Combine.'

It had been an emotional and tumultuous 2022-23 season for Brady. On the field, Brady suffered the first losing season of his 23-year-long NFL career as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad fell to an 8-9 record.

Off the field, he finalized a highly-publicized divorce from his now-ex-wife and supermodel Giselle Bundchen.

Bundchen and Brady were married for 13 years before their divorce was finalized in October of 2022.

He won't start his role with Fox until 2024, saying he needed to decompress from football but Radar claims it's actually because he wants Bundchen back.

Earlier in February, Brady revealed on social media that he was going to adopt a few house pets

'The biggest obstacle between them was Gisele's complaints about Tom putting football before family, so he decided to show her he's willing to focus on them before taking the job at FOX,' an insider is quoted as saying to Radar. 'His only goal right now is to get his family back.'

In the weeks that have followed his retirement announcement, Brady has appeared to spend his time mostly with his children.

He has two with Gisele - 13-year-old Benjamin and 10-year-old Vivian, who he has also been seen watching have horse riding lessons.

Brady also has another son, 15-year-old Jack, from his previous relationship with actress and model Bridget Moynahan.
