A baby kangaroo named 'Lucky' has been rescued from crocodile-infested floodwaters in north Queensland.
Townsville Water Police found the joey paddling through Burketown floodwaters behind a residential community, at the same time a helicopter pilot spotted crocodiles on the lookout.
Footage of the rescue shows a police officer pulling up next to the marsupial in a small boat before fishing the struggling marsupial out of the murky water.
The brave officers then released Lucky onto dry land where he hopped away before looking back at this rescuers as if to say 'thank you'.

On Sunday it was feared crocodiles and and bull sharks were lurking in Burketown floodwaters.
Burke Shire Mayor Ernie Camp, who evacuated on Saturday, said crocodiles and bull sharks would pose a danger to residents who chose to stay behind.
'(And) where there's crocodiles, especially in the estuary systems out here, there's likely to be bull sharks,' Cr Camp said.
Queensland police confirmed the rumours - and how fortunate little Lucky was.
'A helicopter pilot flew over at the time and spotted two very large crocs nearby - a timely reminder to stay out of floodwaters as you never know what is lurking beneath.'
Triggered by heavy rains in the last week, Burketown in remote north west Queensland has been inundated leading to calls to evacuate.
