The widow of ABC news producer Dax Tejera is back home living with her children in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Veronica Tejera faces charges of child endangerment for leaving her two young daughters alone in a hotel room while she and husband Dax, 37, dined at a Manhattan steakhouse where he died after choking on food.
On Monday, his 33-year-old grieving spouse, who could face up to one year in prison or three years probation, was spotted stepping out of her family home on a cold, cloudy day.
Wearing glasses with her hair in a headband and cloaked in a black puffy down coat, she drove off in a BMW SUV to run errands, exclusive DailyMail.com photos show.

A short while later, a young woman believed to be the nanny was seen taking Veronica's children, a two-year-old and eight-month-old, out for a walk, wheeling them through their tree-lined neighborhood in a double stroller.
Veronica's 64-year-old mother, Rocio Bautista, has been staying with her daughter and granddaughters.

Veronica, a producer for Washington Post Live, declined to speak with a news reporter. She has maintained a low profile since the tragic night of December 23.
The family, living in tony suburb just north of Washington, D.C., had traveled to Manhattan to celebrate the holidays, with plans to visit friends and see Rockefeller Center.
They were staying at the Yale Club, an exclusive club for alumni of Yale University, on Vanderbilt Avenue. They left their kids behind as they headed about a block away to Bobby Van's, where a steak dinner and drinks runs around $200-a-head.
Tejera's bosses at ABC previously attributed his death to a heart attack. But the New York City's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told DailyMail.com that Tejera was inebriated and choked on his dinner.
The official cause of death was asphyxia due to obstruction of the airway by food bolus complicating acute alcohol intoxication.
Tejera had appeared sick in the moments before he died outside the steakhouse and a waiter checked on him.
Staff at the expensive eatery now say he was looking so ill shortly into his meal that the waiter asked him: 'Are you okay, sir?' before he collapsed outside.
The ABC producer was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
As Veronica traveled in the ambulance with her husband, the couple's friends went to the posh Yale Club to collect the children.
But hotel staff called police at around 11pm, after they discovered the children had been left unattended for at least two hours.
Veronica previously released a statement admitting it was a 'poor decision' to leave their daughters on their own, but insisted the couple had two cameras on the girls as they slept

Veronica was arrested by the NYPD shortly after midnight and charged with two counts of acting in a manner injurious for a child.
She was released from custody shortly after 4am and given a desk appearance ticket requiring her to appear at a future court date.
Her hearing, which was postponed from last month, is currently set for May 1.
The children, who were unharmed, were initially left with their grandmother, but Veronica is back with her children.
