Jets add another second-round pick by 'trading Elijah Moore to the Browns' in effort to get Rodgers

The New York Jets were able to kill two birds with one stone by trading a wantaway receiver and getting back ammunition to better their efforts of attracting Aaron Rodgers.

Gang Green shipped off receiver Elijah Moore and a third-round pick in the 2023 draft to Cleveland in exchange for the Browns' 2023 second-round pick, according to the New York Post.

New York now owns picks No. 42 and 43 in the draft, but will likely move at least one of - if not both of - those in a trade to go get Rodgers.

On an episode of the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers publicly announced his desire to play for the Jets - but no deals between Green Bay and New York have been finalized.

This deal came as the Jets agreed to a contract with former Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman for $6.5million over the course of a year.

Moore had requested a trade from the Jets in the middle of last season after struggling

Moore had requested a trade away from the Jets back in October after becoming frustrated due to the lack of offensive targets he was getting from QB Zach Wilson.

Things became untenable with Moore when he reportedly blew up at Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur in a practice - forcing coaches to send him home and making him inactive for a game.

Moore was picked out of Ole Miss in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft - and showed out in his rookie season with 43 catches for 538 yards and five touchdowns.

Last season, he only managed 37 catches for 446 yards and one touchdown.
