Police video from NFL assistant coach Todd Downing's November drunk-driving arrest has surfaced, showing the now-former Tennessee Titans staffer claiming he was speeding home because he received a death threat and wanted to be with his family.
Downing has since been dismissed by the Titans and hired to be the New York Jets' passing game coordinator.
In the police video, which was first published by TMZ, Downing initially denied drinking before admitting to having a 'victory beer' following the Titans' win over the Packers in Green Bay earlier that evening. Downing was returning home from the team flight back from Wisconsin when he was pulled over for allegedly driving over 100mph.
An officer in the video can be heard telling the 42-year-old Minnesota native that he was 'hauling ass' and 'easily going over 100 [mph]' before he was pulled over in his black Mercedes.
'I'm with the Titans,' Downing stammered when interrogated by police in the driver's seat of his car. 'I got a death threat tonight. The Franklin police are outside my house. And I was trying to get home to my family.'

Downing would later be charged with DUI and ultimately served 48 hours in a Tennessee jail
The officer acknowledged Downing's concern before saying he smelled alcohol and asking the Titans assistant if he's been drinking.
'I have not,' Downing said. 'You can check with our security.'
Downing is then asked to step out of his car before admitting to the officer that he had a 'victory beer in Green Bay.'
The Coach continued to express concern about his family, but the officer explained he needed to conduct the sobriety tests before he could allow Downing to leave.
'I never meant to go reckless, I'm just worried about my family,' he said.
Downing then failed the field sobriety tests after appearing to wobble while attempting to walk in a straight line.
'Here's the deal, I think you've had entirely too much to drink tonight to be behind the wheel of a car,' the officer told Downing, who was handcuffed and placed under arrest before calling a member of the Titans.
'Hey Jon, hey, man, I was rushing home and I got arrested for DUI,' Downing said.
It's unclear if Downing was speaking to then-Titans GM, Jon Robinson, who was later fired in December.
'I was panicking because I was scared about my family, and I had a victory beer and I'm off Cold Springs at the Shell [gas station] and they arrested me for DUI.'
The officer then began speaking with Jon.
'Hey sir, this is Trooper Walker with the Tennessee Highway Patrol,' the officer said.
Downing has since been fired in Tennessee, but has resurfaced with the New York Jets
Jon, as he was identified, confirmed to the officer that the league office in New York had informed Downing of the death threat.
'There had been some social media stuff… he's telling the truth about that,' said the person, who was identified as Jon.
An NFL spokesman did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's request for confirmation on the alleged death threat.
Downing told the man on the other end of the phone that he planned to tell head coach Mike Vrabel about the arrest himself.
He was ultimately booked at Williamson County Jail at 4:30am.
Downing has since served a 48-hour hail sentence after being charged with speeding and driving under the influence.
He joined Jets coach Robert Saleh's staff in February.
