The Bruins' Trent Frederic made quick work of Lane Pederson Thursday night as the two fought in the second period.

Frederic had taken issue with the Blue Jackets' Pederson cross-checking Boston's captain Patrice Bergeron in the face earlier in the period.

While Pederson was only given a two-minute penalty for the offense, Frederic made sure to get his payback soon enough.

As the two circled around each other, it took Frederic just one quick punch to the chin of Pederson to send the Columbus forward to the ground.

'That was a good punch,' Boston's Tyler Bertuzzi said after the game, according to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Ty Anderson.

'I don't know what else to say.'

For Frederic, it was his seventh fight of the year, and only eight players in the entire NHL have fought more frequently this season.

The Bruins would go on to win the evidently testy game 2-1 in overtime.
