A Canadian influencer has gone viral after demonstrating how to 'stop period cramps in minutes' using nothing more than a pen.

Chrissy Briel, 31, from Ontario, has more than 121,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty and wellness tips. In a recent video, she shared the 'only hack you will ever need' to naturally relieve menstrual pain.

She claimed that massaging the point inside the back wall of the ear can ease cramps, saying reflexology is 'the practice you never knew you needed.'

'There are thousands of women confirming it's a miracle and it works,' she insisted, pointing to a previous comment from a fan who said the trick 'legit worked.'

Reflexology is an alternative therapy in which pressure is applied to specific points in the feet, hands, and ears to create a response in the body. The practice is similar to acupuncture and acupressure, according to the University of Minnesota

Some research suggests that reflexology may be effective in reducing pain, including menstrual cramps.

In the video, Briel used a stainless steel acupuncture pen to massage the inside of her ear. However, she noted that you can also use a regular pen, a makeup brush, or even your finger.

She advised massaging the reflexology point in the ear with 'medium pressure for three to five minutes' before switching sides.

'If you need to do it a little longer, do it. What are you doing anyway? Lying on the bathroom floor? Lying in bed? You could do it,' she said. 'If you need to do it multiple times throughout the day, again, do it. I promise you this works.

'OK so I bought this tool and IT WORKED y'all,' one person wrote.

'That's crazy. I was curled in a ball when I saw this and tried it and had to scroll back up to say it worked,' another added.

Someone else shared that the reflexology massage 'worked for about 60 seconds and then came straight back,' saying it's 'promising if I've got time to spend the day with my finger in my ear.'
