Washington DC officers released bodycam footage of an officer shooting a 17-year-old father found asleep behind the wheel of a stolen car.
Dalaneo Martin, who has a 5-month-old baby, died on March 18 after he was ambushed and shot five times from behind by unidentified US Park Police and Metropolitan Police Department officers.
The shocking bodycam footage showed two officers creep into the backseat of the white Hyundai Tucson Martin was sleeping in while parked at the River Terrace neighborhood around 9am that day.
Four officers at the scene believed the car was stolen because the ignition was 'punched out' and proceeded to creep into the back of the car to arrest Martin as he reclined in the driver seat.
The footage showed cops quietly planning the sneak attack and peeking through the car without announcing themselves before Martin jolted awake and drove away. The officer behind him fatally shot him in the back causing him to crash into a house.

Cops shouted 'police' while attempting to place handcuffs on Martin and within seconds, he started driving with one officer in the back seat and another who got dragged outside the car.
'Stop, stop, or I'll shoot,' the officer in the back of the car told Martin.
The shocking clip shows the cop deploying his gun five times into Martin's back after ignoring his pleas to stop and let him out.
Martin yelped as he was hit before crashing into a home on Kenilworth Avenue and 36th Street.
Footage then shows officers performing CPR on Martin next to the vehicle, with one calling out: 'Hey, you got an AED?' (automated external defibrillator). Shortly after, Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later uncovered a gun inside the white SUV, though it isn't clear if it belonged to Martin. Officers have not revealed who they believe stole the car.
The officers involved are on paid leave.
The police departments involved weren't immediately available for comment.

In another bodycam video, an MPD officer can be heard telling the three others, 'If [Martin] takes off just let him go, but don't get inside that car.'
An attorney for Martin's family pointed out the instruction that was blatantly ignored.
'The MPD officer specifically told all the officers not to get in the vehicle and if the driver takes off, let him go and do not chase him,' Attorney Mathis wrote in a statement.
'As a result of this officer's reckless disregard for the advisement from a 20-year police veteran, Mr. Martin was murdered. We are now asking for an independent DOJ investigation and for this officer to be held accountable.'
The victim's mother Terri Martin was devastated upon watching the released bodycam footage released on Tuesday.
'He murdered my son,' Terri previously told Fox 5 while demanding the police department release the name of the officers involved.
'I want the name of the officer released to the public and for the officer to be terminated and prosecuted.'

Martin's family held a vigil and protest for justice for the 17-year-old near the neighborhood where he died on March 26.
'Why wasn't a taser deployed? Why was the officer in the back of the car? Why was Dalaneo shot,' Terri said, according to ABC7.
Several of Martin's family members remembered him at a press conference on Wednesday as Terri called for the officers involved to be arrested.
'The video self explains everything that they did to my son. How can you justify this? The officer can't justify this. He's at home with his kids. I'm kidless, planning his funeral,' Terri said on Wednesday.
Terri described her son as her 'protector' that was taken away and recalled he was 'always dancing.' He was one of ten children.
'He's my baby. That's my baby,' Terri said.
Martin was also remembered as a reliable figure who was always there for his family and for always making them laugh.
'He was the life of the party, my man,' Rahketa Steele, Martin's sister, said.
She added: 'My brother deserves justice. My brother deserves to be here.'
Federal prosecutors announced on Wednesday that they've launched a civil rights investigation into Martin's death.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office wrote in a statement that the investigation is ongoing and no further information was available.
