Horrifying video shows an abandoned home covered in MOLD after elderly owner went missing

A horrifying video shows an abandoned home covered in mold after its elderly owner went missing over a year ago — leaving all of her possessions decaying inside.  

TruOrganic Restoration, a mold remediation company in Houston, Texas, went viral on TikTok after sharing footage of an employee walking through the property while dressed head to toe in personal protective equipment. 

'When you are called to perform a welfare check on an elderly person. No one has seen or heard from her in over a year,' the company wrote in the on-screen text. 

'She has no other friends or family. All of her possessions are still inside of the home. But she's nowhere to be found.'

The company explained in the on-screen text that the elderly woman who lived there hasn't been seen or heard from in over a year

The woman left all of the possessions behind, and the walls are covered in mold, including in the closets 

The delipidated home was also covered in what appeared to be fuzzy white mold

The tour ended in the garage where the woman's car was still parked. 

Insulation hung from the ceiling, and the space was filled with junk, including an old TV, cardboard boxes, and water jugs. 

The shocking video has been viewed a whopping 21 million times and has received more than 12,000 comments since it was posted last month.

'She's there. That's decomp mold,' one person responded. 

'Decomp mold happens when a dead body is left to rot for [an] extended period of time,' someone else explained. 'Since her whole house is covered I'm gonna guess she's there.'

'She's in the walls. SHE'S IN THE FN WALLS,' another insisted. 

However, not everyone was buying that theory.  

TruOrganic Restoration later shared an update about the home and its former owner a week later, saying its employees are 'working tirelessly' to remove the mold

'She has NOT been found, and is very likely NOT inside of this home thankfully!' the company added in the caption 

'If that is decomposition mold (meaning she died) why is her body not there?' one viewer asked. 'No way it's completely gone after only a year.'

'Everybody's saying how it's decomp mold, yet I don't see anybody questioning why they only got a wellness check A YEAR LATER,' another noted. 

'Y'all talking about the decomp mold and I'm just sad af that no one noticed her gone for a year!' someone else agreed. 

TruOrganic Restoration later shared an update about the home and its former owner a week later, saying its employees are 'working tirelessly' to remove the mold.
