Former Alabama quarterback and first-overall pick hopeful Bryce Young tried assuring the public that his size was not a worry for him as he enters the NFL.
The 5-foot-10 Young is the shortest signal caller in this year's NFL Draft class and is at least five inches shorter than the three other quarterbacks projected to go in the first round: Ohio State's C.J. Stroud, Kentucky's Will Levis, and Florida's Anthony Richardson.
Despite this perceived disadvantage, Young tossed over 3,300 yards and finished top-10 in the league in touchdown passes.
The 2021 Heisman winner has shown his versatility with 185 rushing yards and a completion percentage of just below 65 percent.
Appearing on ESPN's First Take, Young said that his shorter stature is something he's grown used to and that criticisms of his height don't affect his play.

'I think its valid,' Young said. 'I get it, I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But for me, I'm capable of what I'm capable of. I know who I am.
'I've been playing with a lot of people that have been bigger than me my entire life. I've always been the smaller one on the field, and I know that's not going to change at the next level and it's something I'm super used to.
'In the next level its about how quickly you can process, how well you can make the right decision, how well you can get the ball out of your hands and get it into a playmaker's hands.
'So that's something I pride myself in. I'm ready for that challenge at the next level... I'm not looking to run a bunch of people over.'
Young is currently the odds-on favorite to be drafted first overall by the Carolina Panthers on April 27, when the draft begins.
