An Oklahoma cold case has been reopened after a woman took to TikTok to ask for help in finding her missing parents, who vanished more than 25 years ago - their bodies were discovered in the woods.

Dallas Burr, 30, originally of Texas, was a toddler when her parents Brian, 23, and Rachel, 21, went missing, having been last seen in Pennsylvania grandfather's ex-wife. She was raised by her grandmother who died in 2014.

On April 9, 1995, Brian and Rachel's bodies were found with gunshot wounds in a wooded area in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, off US Highway 69. But the authorities were never able to establish who the mystery couple were.

At the time of her first video two years ago, Burr believed her parents were still alive, saying: 'I don't want anything from them, I just want to meet them.'

But she uncovered the truth after submitting her DNA to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation last year. On April 12, authorities were able to identify the remains.

Now, as a result of her drawing attention to their deaths online and matching her DNA, the cold case has been reopened.

By time Burr turned eight she was 'orphaned by the State of Texas as no one had seen or heard from my parents for over five years.' Shortly after the announcement, she and her grandmother would move to Ohio.

Burr said she had been in contact with her mother's family for most of her life and had started to converse with her paternal uncle when she was 17 after he found her Facebook.

'It opened a whole other world for me,' she said in a follow-up TikTok in 2021.

Neither side of the family had a clue what happened to Burr's family and most just assumed 'they were young when they had me and my brother and they were overwhelmed and they just couldn't do it anymore.'

Burr, who still believed her parents were alive, said she 'forgave' her parents and just wanted to 'know' them.

In a Part 5 update, she told viewers that her and her brother both have children now and have left most of their remaining family, but were hoping their parents would like to meet their grandchildren.

Brian,  23, and 21-year-old Rachel Burr's bodies were found in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, in a wooded area off US Highway 69 in 1995 - years after they went missing. Their bodies wouldn't be positively identified until September 2022

At the time of her first video, the then-28-year-old Burr believed her parents were still alive, saying: 'I don't want anything from them, I just want to meet them' (pictured: Burr with her mother as a toddler)

On her quest to find her parents, she discovered a phone - that would end up being disconnected - that connected to a prior home address. After hitting a wall, she sent a letter to the Hunts County Sheriff's Department requesting more information.

The Hunts County Sheriff's Department later contacted her to tell her that there was never a missing persons report in Texas.

However, the lady that ran the report wanted to help Burr and so she sent over birth certificates and other documents and addresses.

At an unknown time in 2021 the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) sent DNA evidence of one of her parents to the CeCe Moore’s Parabon Nano Labs for testing.

In September 2022, it was revealed that the DNA was it was 'likely to be Brian and Rachel Burr of Texas.'

OSBI collected relative DNA in Oklahoma and her father's remains linked back to several of them, which Burr also linked back too.

Authorities later informed Burr that her mother and father (pictured) were killed by gunshot wounds. Investigators are now investigating the deaths as a homicide and there are no currently known suspects

In November 2022 - more than a year after she initially began her quest - she shared with her fans that her parents were actually dead.

'I would always fear that I would get that call,' she said in a TikTok from November.

On April 12 of this year, the OSBI officially identified the remains as Brian and Rachel.

Burr said she was 'angry' and was 'mourning the hope' after learning about their death before the public announcement.

Within the last week, Burr updated her fans once again, saying they were 'still trying to get any information that they may have missed.'

'The case isn’t solved. We’ve got as much information as we can get from known friends and family. If there’s anyone out there who knew my mother, Rachel Ann Burr, and my father, Brian Eugene Burr, and has any information, even if you think it’s inconsequential, it will help,' she begged.

Investigators are still searching for the suspects.
