The View co-hosts acknowledged the controversies surrounding Don Lemon a day after he was fired from CNN - admitting he had 'said some dumb things' but were adamant that his ousting was different than that of Fox News' Tucker Carlson.
Almost immediately after Fox issued a statement announcing they had 'parted ways' with Carlson on Monday, the ladies of The View began celebrating and sent him off with an on-air Mexican wave.
But there was no mention of Lemon's firing, which happened within minutes of Carlson's ousting after Lemon had finished anchoring 'CNN This Morning.'
The View co-hosts finally turned their attention to Lemon on Tuesday with Sunny Hostin saying she doesn't believe he is a misogynist and that the comparisons between the firings of Lemon and Carlson 'is a false equivalency.'
Lemon's firing came after a series of missteps that included his suggestion in February that Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley was past her 'prime.'

Whoopi Goldberg began the discussion about Lemon on-air Tuesday pointing out his 'controversial on-air statements' and rumors about how he treats his female colleagues - including his co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.
When the attention turned to Lemon on The View Tuesday, his longtime friend and former colleague Hostin admitted to being biased because of their friendship but said she was stunned by the firing.
'I don't believe, in my experience with him, that he's a misogynist. I believe he loves women.'
She then pointed out how much he loves his mother and how much he loved his late sister, who passed away in 2018.
Hostin then argued the comparisons between Lemon's firing and Carlson's are not the same.
'That is a false equivalency!' She exclaimed. 'Don, yes, said some things that were sexist and I think ageist. He apologized for them, and received formal training.'
Joy Behar accused Carlson of 'fomenting bigotry' while Lemon was 'fighting bigotry.'
'There's a big difference there. And yes, he did say some dumb things,' Behar said before Hostin interrupted, defending Lemon by saying that he apologized.
'Tucker Carlson never apologized for anything!' she added.
On Monday, Fox News' Tucker Carlson was ousted, and almost immediately after Fox issued a statement the ladies of The View began celebrating
The ladies of The View led the boisterous liberal response to the longtime Fox host's ouster Monday, celebrating with an on-air Mexican wave
During the segment, Goldberg asked how why CNN would allow Lemon to co-host a show with two women in the first place if he was a believed misogynist.
'If you're concerned that somebody is a misogynist, why would you put them with two women to do a show if you feel that way?'
The other co-hosts chimed in briefly with Sara Haines adding Lemon's firing 'was coming down the pike for a while' under CNN's new management.
While talking about what's next for the two ousted anchors, Alyssa Farah Griffin offered that an online stream might do well for Carlson, but Lemon 'could have a big future somewhere else.'
It was a stark difference from yesterday when they received the news of Carlson's firing.
Ana Navarro, who led the co-hosts in an impassioned rendition of 'Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye,' is a Republican, but seemed equally thrilled when Goldberg, 67, provided the audience with a real-time update during the live taping to note Carlson's apparent firing after nearly a decade with the news station.
'Word has just come down that Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,' Goldberg announced before being met with a rash of applause from those in attendance at the ABC Broadcast Center in Manhattan.
The actress, the most senior on the panel with Joy Behar out, went on to perform the gesture popularized during the 1986 Mexico World Cup in celebration, with her fellow panelists all joining in.
As the woman sat back down, Navarro - who joined the program this past August - seemingly sought to extend the festivities by singing the 1969 hit to ring in Carlson's departure. The audience, again, was eager to take part.
'Can I ask the audience if they'll help me do something?' the increasingly animated 51-year-old asked aloud before breaking into song. 'Come on folks! Na na na na. Na na na na. Hey, hey, hey. Goodbye! Sayonara.'
As the impromptu chorus died down, panelist Sunny Hostin - who in the past has been criticized for pushing her progressive opinions on her more moderate colleagues like Goldberg and ex-Trump aide Alyssa Farrah Griffin - continued to kick Carlson while he was down.
'I don't think anyone likes to celebrate the demise of someone's career, but he is responsible for the degradation that we see somewhat of our democracy in this country,' the 54-year-old lawyer said.
She added joyfully: 'And I just think, as a faithful person: Look at God. Look at God!'
Don Lemon said he was left 'stunned' by his firing from CNN after more than 17 years - but why exactly was he axed? The decision came a few weeks after he was put paid leave for comments about women, and an array of other on-air incidents that may have played a part in his nixing
In a post from Lemon, the anchor - who was moved to the Morning last year before seemed to insinuate the situation had been contentious.
Meanwhile, Lemon said he was left 'stunned' by his sudden firing from CNN after more than 17 years.
In a statement Monday, CNN claimed it had 'parted ways' with Lemon on good terms - though a post from Lemon just minutes before seemed to insinuate the situation had been contentious.
Shortly thereafter, CEO Chris Licht spoke on the Morning host's nixing, simply writing in a memo to staff: 'Don will forever be a part of the CNN family... we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years.' He added: 'CNN This Morning has been on the air for nearly six months, and we are committed to its success.'
Offered roughly a year after Licht was tapped to replace ousted predecessor Jeff Zucker, the statement shed little light on what actually led to Lemon's exit but served as confirmation of the latest failed experiment under the ex-Late Show boss's watch.
The CNN anchor caused noticeable tension on his new set in February when he bashed 51-year-old Nikki Haley's proposal that politicians aged 75 and up should face competency tests, causing costars Poppy Harlow (left) and Kaitlan Collins (right) to walk off the set
Last week, Lemon got into an onscreen argument with another GOP candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, over their interpretation of racial history.
Those are sore spots at CNN, where network head Chris Licht has been trying to get Republicans to set aside their suspicion of the network and appear for interviews.
Lemon was fired after anchoring the show on Monday. He criticized network management for not breaking the news to him in person, but CNN disputed that in a dueling tweet.
Harlow addressed the absence on Tuesday by reading a statement from Licht about Lemon. She said Lemon was her first friend at CNN when she joined the network 15 years ago.
'Kaitlan and I are really proud of this show,' she said. 'We are so proud of the dedicated team that are working around the clock to bring you the news each morning. Our priority is you, the viewer. We're grateful you welcomed us into your home this morning.'
