A 'vicious' peacock that escaped a New York City zoo, then went on a rampage and attacked a man has now returned home.
Locals named the escapee 'Raul' after they were shocked to see the bird launch the vicious attack then roost in a tree in the Bronx.
Despite efforts from both the NYPD and the FDNY to safely capture the bird, he remained perched high up in the tree following the attack last night for most of this morning.
Shortly after 11am however, Raul made his final flight home to the Bronx Zoo as he swooped over the fence of the park.
A group that had gathered to watch Raul erupted into applause as he finally returned home.

It comes after a eurasian eagle owl escaped its enclosure at Central Park Zoo in February after vandals cuts its steel cage.
The owl, named Flaco, was reported missing from its exhibit and was later spotted on the city's iconic shopping stretch on Fifth Avenue.
After two weeks of searching, the zoo announced they would be giving up their attempts to recapture Flaco who had now taken up hunting prey in the park.
