This is the moment a DoorDash delivery man in San Francisco stole a pizza in full view of a surveillance camera.

The driver was seen arriving at the delivery address in a sedan before getting out and taking out pizza boxes from the passenger side of the car.

After walking the food to the front door and placing it on the step, the man takes a few steps back, captures a photo of the food in situ, and puts it back in his car before driving off.

The footage was shared by KTVU in San Francisco by a business owner who said the food had been ordered to boost the spirits of his demoralized staff because the store had been ransacked by burglars days prior, costing $70,000.

They wanted to remain anonymous for fear of exposing the business' current vulnerabilities, but said DoorDash provided new food and said those caught stealing would face deactivation.

'I'm an ultimate optimist, but this makes me lose faith in humanity,' the owner told the station. 'I know there are good people out there. But the bad people right now are winning.'

The owner also said he had to spend $70,000 protecting his business against further attacks after thieves broke in on April 23 and stole $500 worth of items.

He said they rammed a stolen vehicle into his shop's steel garage door and has since added a new rolling iron gate and concrete barriers.

DoorDash said in a statement to KTVU that it was investigating the incident and that it takes the report 'extremely seriously.'

'Any Dasher found to have stolen food will face consequences, including deactivation,' it added.
