Talk about creating a buzz!
A cockroach was spotted crawling along the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York on Monday night, hoping to rub antennae with some A-listers who were already inside.
The roach darted across the carpet as it attempted to scurry up the staircase into the venue having made it past tight security.
Onlookers could be heard screaming in both fright and delight as the unexpected guest made a late arrival.
This year's cream colored carpet saw the uninvited insect stand out more than it might have done otherwise had the traditional red have been used.
Nevertheless, it quickly caught the attention of onlookers including fashion photographers who snapped the roach rocking a six-legged look.

Cockroaches are one of the most common pests in New York City, and their presence is often a cause for fear and disgust.
According to one American Housing Survey, nearly 1 in 6 New Yorkers have reported seeing cockroaches in their homes so it is perhaps no surprise that one was able to make it inside the makeshift set up for the Met Gala.
