I tried to sneak late into a Zoom meeting - but my quirky filter gave it away

A woman who tried to sneak late into a work meeting has revealed the hilarious mishap that gave her away. 

Emily, a US-based TikTok user, revealed on the social media platform that she reduced her co-workers - and herself - to stitches after attending the video conference meeting with a moustachioed mushroom filter on her face. 

A clip, which has now gathered more than 9.7million views showed how her colleagues, including her boss, were sent into uncontrollable fits of laughter when Emily popped up on their screens with the quirky filter on. 

The clip was made even funnier by the fact that Emily herself - who was trying to play it cool so that nobody spotted her late arrival - didn't notice the filter on her face until moments later. 

She was inundated with comments telling her how funny the whole situation was after sharing the video online.

'When you try and sneak into a meeting late but God has other plans,' Emily captioned the video as she shared it on the social media platform, adding: 'Why am I like this? Thanks to all my co-workers that SAID NOTHING.' 

Emily joined the meeting late it was already running full speed, with several stone-faced people could be seen on their screen. 

But many of the employees focused resolve faded into fits of laughter when Emily tuned into the meeting, unware she had a filter on. 

The filter showed her wearing a mushroom hat and a small white moustache, but the employee did not realize it was on, and continued as if nothing was amiss. 

But while Emily remained poker faced, her co-workers on screen gradually descended into hilarity as they were unable to hide their laughing fits onscreen. 

One woman dressed in a red shirt, which Emily later identified as her boss, particularly struggled to keep a straight face.  

Eventually, Emily jumped as she finally clocked her filter, and hid her mouth behind her hand in shock - the tiny moustache still in view. 

Seeing the funny side, Emily quickly uploaded the clip of the meeting on TikTok, where thousands people flooded her with comments.

People found the video hilarious, especially the fact that people were trying and failing to keep a straight face 

'I have watched this 100 times and cry harder each time,' one said. 

'Had to rewatch it. The exact moment she noticed and did a little mini jump. I'm dead,' one wrote. 

'The way they tried to not laugh... Then busted up laughing,' another said. 

'The way the lady in red progressively loses it more and more is sending me,' one said. 

'Best late to work Zoom ever,' another commented.
