Skip Bayless blasts 'shameful' Kevin Durant suggesting the Phoenix superstar is 'semi-retired'

Skip Bayless has sounded off Kevin Durant following the Suns' humiliating 125-100 Game 6 loss to Denver, subsequently ending Phoenix's season.

A longtime critic of Durant, Bayless reveled in the stunning loss, tweeting about Durant during the game before expanding on FS1's Undisputed Friday morning.

'I believe that he is semi-retired in his head,' Bayless said. 'He accomplished what he wanted to accomplish, now he wants to hoop.'

'He's done... you saw his body language, he didn't care last night. That was shameful. He's shameful. That was pathetic last night. 

'He did not show up, you know and I know,' Bayless said speaking to debate partner, Shannon Sharpe. 'He has no burning desire... he's a made man.'

Durant was traded by Brooklyn to Phoenix on February 9 in the hopes of bringing a title to PHX

Bayless also referred to the two-time NBA champion as 'Kevin Du-Cant' on Twitter as the Nuggets boat-raced the Suns in Phoenix. 

He poured in 23 points on 8-of-19 from the field, in addition to five rebounds and five assists.

Mat Ishbia's franchise traded for Durant in February, sending Mikail Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first-round picks to the Nets in exchange for the 'Slim Reaper'.

During his introductory press conference, Durant said Phoenix had 'all the pieces to be successful' but ultimately ran into a Buzzsaw that are the Denver Nuggets.

Durant won back-to-back titles with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018, earning Finals MVP honors in both.

After a failed attempt at a three-peat, Durant signed for the Nets in 2019 via free agency. Following a year out due to an Achilles tear suffered in the 2019 Finals, Durant did not play during his first year with Brooklyn. 

He spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Nets before being moved on to Phoenix, in what many considered an ambitious acquisition in the pursuit of an NBA title.
