Kohberger and attorney's for both sides are back in the courtroom for a hearing regarding the gag order that has prevented anyone involved with the case from talking to members of the media - unless they are quoting directly from a court document.
Last week, the Idaho Supreme Court unanimously shot down a request from more than 30 news outlets to rescind the order, on the basis that it violates the First Amendment.
After rejecting the request, the state's highest court chided the news groups for not first asking a lower court to have the order lifted.
During Monday's behind closed door hearing, the presiding judge agreed with the court's assessment, claiming that the media coalition going the Supreme Court has slowed the process of questioning the order down.
Members of the media, meanwhile, are fighting for a less strict order - and are continuing to voice their challenge to the county court.
Speaking to attorneys for both parties Monday with Kohberger in the room, the judge declared that he will not be making any decisions on the Kohberger gag order today, and that two hearings will be held in June to address them.
The second hearing, the court said, will be held to address the issue of cameras in court - which is currently prohibited.
