A recent ranking of some of America's largest airports found that, based on Twitter activity, California's John Wayne Airport angers its travelers more than any other.
In a Forbes analysis that processed more than 37,000 tweets directed at the 60 busiest airports in the US over the course of one year, John Wayne Airport in Orange County racked up the most tweets that could be characterized as 'angry.'
The words that popped up most in tweets from irate John Wayne travelers included 'noise,' 'staff,' 'TSA,' 'complaints' and 'delayed.'
Nearly two-thirds of tweets of tweets aimed at the John Wayne Airport were disgruntled in nature.

Comparatively, just 55 percent of tweets aimed at the nearby Los Angeles Airport were negative, and 54 percent of those targeting the Hollywood Burbank Airport.
Complaints about John Wayne ranged from the airport being to noisy, to issues with TSA staff and flight delays.
The same was true about the airports that came in just behind John Wayne as second and third 'angriest' places to catch a flight - which were Florida's Jacksonville International and Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska.
Airports in Tampa, San Antonio, Atlanta, San Diego, Nashville, Phoenix, and San Jose rounded out the top 10 angriest list, while the Indianapolis International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma airport, and the Kansas City airport were found to be the calmest.
In a separate survey John Wayne carried out, nearly three-quarters of its passengers - 73 percent - scored the airport a five out of five.
The director of John Wayne Airport, Charlene Reynolds, said the results highlight the airport's 'commitment to deliver safe and convenient air travel and a superior guest experience travelers can rely on.'
And it has frequently been praised for the service it offers.
In 2022, the Wall Street Journal also ranked John Wayne as the ninth best midsize airport in the US. The JD Power 2022 rankings listed the airport as the country's second best in the midsize range.
Coming in just behind John Wayne as the 'angriest' airport in the US was the Jacksonville International Airport in Florida
The Kansas City airport rounded out the top three calmest airports to pass through in the US
Travelers praised the Indianapolis Airport's easy navigability and efficiency - it was ranked as the calmest airport in the nation
The Seattle-Tacoma airport was also ranked among the nation's calmest airports to pass through
Forbes reported that travelers passing through the Indy airport were complimentary of its easily navigable layout and efficiency.
The airport ranked first for customer satisfaction among midsize airports in North America on the JD Powers 2022 North America Airport Satisfaction Study.
