Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass gave back a lavish $600 gift bag sent by Kim Kardashian after her election win, newly uncovered documents have revealed.
Last month, the reality TV star sent Bass some of her superstar family's main products, including SKIMS goodies as well as items from her siblings' various business ventures.
While Kardashian and many other famous LA residents supported Bass' opponent Rick Caruso last November, the SKIMS founder still made a point to congratulate the first female mayor in the city's history.
The mayor's gift list was obtained by Reuters editor Ben Welsh through a Freedom of Information Act request. Welsh shared the list of items and their value on Reddit.
The mayor's office gave a total value of $600 to the gifts they described as: 'Swag Bag- SKIMS items, messenger, liquor, hot sauce, makeup items, face light shield, hats.'

That description could mean the basket included items from all of Kim's relatives - except Khloe.

Kendall Jenner, on her part, is the owner of the popular 808 tequila brand, which starts at a price of $39.99 for the Blanco and goes up as high as $189,00 for a Reserve bottle.

The gifts were returned for ethical reasons, as the city has a strict policy regarding accepting presents which includes disclosing any present worth over $50.
The mayor can take gifts from entities with previous financial ties to the city up to a monetary value of over $100, and up to $590 when they come from a nongubernatorial source like the Kardashians.
But the Kardashians were not the only prominent names to send Bass a gift that was declined; the city's sports team also tried unsuccessfully to gift their new mayor some swag.
Kristin McCowein, Senior Director of Government and Community Relations for the LA Dodgers, sent a jersey, sweatshirt and yearbook valued at $229.
Bass also declined two custom jerseys from LA's Football Club, worth $260.
She also rejected a $97 necklace sent by designer Maya Brenner, a $11 mobile tablet, and clothing worth $200 from political strategist Howard Sunkin.

The mayor did accept some gifts, however, including several flower arrangements, books, snacks and wine.
She also accepted a tea set worth $30 from Taiwanese president Tsai Ing Wen, and a $40 gift basket 'with Filipino snacks' from Edgar Barajas, Counsel General of the Philippines.
The Democrat was elected in November after promising to take on the city's out-of-control homeless crisis.
Bass' challenge is in plain sight in just about any neighborhood across LA, where homeless people can be seen living in trash-strewn encampments or rusty RVs along streets, below underpasses and clustered around freeway exits.
About half the homeless population - totaling over 40,000 citywide - struggles with drug or alcohol addiction, and about a third have serious mental illnesses. Homeless deaths average five a day.
Bass, who was on President Joe Biden's short list for vice president, defeated billionaire businessman Rick Caruso in the November election.
